What are you typing on?

For a while now I've been typing on a Dvorak Touchstream LP, a far-out, zero-contact mouse-keyboard substitute from now-defunct Fingerworks. I have a soft spot in my heart for the Touchstream, but the fact is that as my job becomes more technical and as I work with more tempermental software, the imprecision and stray input of the Touchstream is ( Read more... )

I used to love that split keyboard ergonomic dealie Microsoft put out roundabout Aught-One. Dunno if they're still making them, but they were relatively cheap and didn't hurt my wrists.

Lemme know if you find one you really like. I'm finding that my laptop keyboards are starting to hurt my wrists.

Yeah, I had one of those once, and maybe I should try it again. They do still make them, although there's some debate about whether they just move the problem from the wrists to the elbows. I think they're a little better than flat keyboards, but they're not all that different.

If you're starting to get wrist pain, take a look online at proper typing posture etc. right away, and if you liked the MS natural you might want to pick up another. I see a lot of typing in your future.

I'm a fellow TS typist and I use a "Natural Elite Keyboard 4000" when I need 100% of my brain while typing. I must say I don't have RSI problem so far, this is why I'm satisfied with this MS keyboard - still, I would prefer of a non staggered verion ;)

Jesus, those keyboards you linked to are the sort of thing that should make villagers dust off their torches and pitchforks. Gah.

My friend (who has a mass graveyard of ergonomic keyboards) uses the Kinesis Advantage. http://www.fentek-ind.com
