Interesting. Will having only 4 elements limit your number of players?

Not at all, with the method explained in my reply to Mike there will be possibility for mixing and matching of powers. Overlap *is* possible, but there is such a large variety of powers to help alleviate this.

Reminds me a little of Exalted with the elements. I like the idea so far. of course, if you add metal and spirit, you have 6 elements instead of 4.

I'm trying to limit the number of elements for my own sake. But I toyed with the idea. =)

I think you could create multiple characters within an element that could still be significantly different. For example you could have two air element people, one might be able to do a variety of things with lightning and the other might move air to do telekinesis and weather control. Earth might have a brick type character or someone that can talk to plants and summon them as snares. It just depends on how broadly you define things.

Exactly. The PC's won't be limited to just one element, you'll be able to mix and match. Other elements will not be at a full strength like your "chosen" element.

A Water Wyk (what I'm calling the masters) could learn the art of Air by studying with an Air master. This is translated to a Knowledge. For every 5 points in this knowledge, characters may purchase a rank in an Air associated power. At least, this is what I'm working with now.
