A Question to all those who actually read this...

In the era of the ipod and the podcast and all that stuff alas an art has started to die out...yes, that is the art of the mix tape. Now damn it, I refuse to let this die out completely, why? Well because my mixes are the stuff of legends damn it, and I don't feel like letting the tradition go. So I was thinking of setting up some posts that ( Read more... )

i frequently make mix cds. could be that i'm not as technologically advanced as the next. i'm still slave to the cd when it comes to tunes while i'm driving, but it keeps the mix alive and well and that's what matters. i'm totally all for swapping mixes.

Cool. And I hear you, I'm still pretty much a slave to the cd, but it just bothers me that while I have nothing against podcasts or the like, it's just that there's not the mix that there used to be.

Look who you're talking to. My tastes range from post-apocalyptic folk to mainstream. XD

I think that the idea behind the mix tape is just as valid today as ever. How about a Mix CD, or a mix-playlist, where one could create the same thing in an electronic medium?

That's exactly what I'm thinking of, and for me it's just offering up playlists and mixes I put together...how people get the music is up to them..though I'm always up to helping out and putting the actual tracks together. XD

Ipods and podcasts and shit are no substitute for mixes... you actually have to put thought into what songs you're going to include and what order they might go in. Totally different from hitting "random" :P

I've always been a fan of the digital mixtape - zips or download links of a bunch of mp3 tracks. And, new musics is always appreciated. ^_^
