This oneshot is really fantastic. I can competely understand why Rachel felt the need for self-preservation, but by doing so she could've missed out on so much. I'm glad Puck knows her so well and called her out, getting her to finally admit that she loves him, too.

I think we've all had moments where we want to push people away because we love them too much and want to protect ourselves. I think Puck will always know Rachel better than anyone (and that's probably a canon secret, too.)

You know I have the biggest weak spot for that movie. I'm so glad that you wrote this! Now I keep hearing the song "Johnny and June" in my head. Anyway, this was perfect!
I hope that one day you write the end scene from Walk the Line as a Puckleberry story. The proposal on stage. That scene gives me chills it so damn good.

I love how you describe Rachel's fears - of opening her heart up only to get hurt again. And I love that Puck knows her well enough and he loves her enough to be able to call her on it.
