This is the story of a girl...
I've decided and pretty much have been for a while anyway, that all non-fic related entries will now be friends only. Soo... before you decide whether or not you want to friend me to read all the stuff I post about that isn't actual fic, I figured I'd make a post that is probably long overdue about myself.
Soo. I guess, now that the wordy thing is obvious, I'll start. I'm Melissa. You can pretty much call me whatever the heck you want, but usually it's Lissa, Liss, and here I'm also I guess, urkonstantine23. Haha. I'm 22, I live in New Zealand, and I love it here, but I can't wait to travel and explore the world some more, too. I work two jobs, occasionally a third, but I'm trained as a teacher, I just haven't done anything with my degree yet, except for the occasional substituting. I work at a bookstore, which is amazing but not at the same time, and I tutor kids, which is great for me - most of the time.
I love books. I'm obsessed. I read almost anything - I have a huge collection of kids picture books, but I enhale novels like it's nobodies business - I am always reading something. I have no particular genre that I stick to - I'm all over the place. I love biographies, autobiographies, fiction, non-fiction, if it captures my attention, I'm hooked. Some of my favourites are Great Gatsby, House Rules, Pride and Prejudice, Scar Tissue, The Guernsey LIterary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Looking for Alibrandi, and I have major love for the Percy Jackson series at the moment.
I watch a lot of movies/DVDs. I love them. Again, my taste is all over the place - I adore old school Disney, Pixar, I love the classic chick flicks like Clueless, Ten Things I Hate About You, but one of my all time favourite movies is Black Hawk Down, 'cause I'm sort of a tomboy who loves to watch stuff blow up.
I'm sorta nerdy. If you ever meet me in real life, I'm possibly the chick wearing the Transformers tee shirt. I have about five of them. Transformers is awesome, I love it. I love the movies, I love the old school cartoons, I just have mega Transformers love. (Shia LaBeouf is an added bonus, NGL.) I even have the Optimash Prime and The Bumble Bee Mr Potato Head.
Music? Depends on mood. Old school rock'n'roll, nineties rock, 60's music, a bit of country, a bit of current rock'n'roll, really, seriously, everything.
I'm surprisingly not a huge TV watcher. I love Outrageous Fortune (can't ya tell?), Glee, Friday Night Lights, Gossip Girl and I'm a fan of Laguna Beach/The Hills, but don't judge me for that. (I also have mad love for Kendra Wilkinson, 'coz she's hilarious.)
I'm not married. I love kids, but they're a long way off, and marriage is something I'm kinda eh about. Like, maybe one day, sure, but ... it's a million years away, because I don't want to wake up one day miserable realising I've made a mistake. *shrug* I have my reasons, I have my experiences, and I have a few years to think about it.
Chances are, if you're on this journal I met you through fandom. I'm a hardcore shipper of Puck/Rachel, Chuck/Blair, Nate/Serena, Tim/Lyla, Craig/Ashley, Percy/Annabeth, and Rachel/Santana FRIENDSHIP.
I complain a lot, but I do love my life. I really, really do. Considering how shitty this year started off for a variety of reasons, I'm really happy with how things are going. I love my friends, and if you're my friend, I go out of my way to care about you, be there for you, and I try really hard to comment on LJ entries if I can.
I live with my parents. This is a source of my complaining, but separate, I love them to death. I have a sister, who provided signed Mark Salling CD for my birthday, and we have our issues, but ya know. Being twins, it's bound to happen. My nanna is pretty much my favourite person in the entire universe.
I hate disappointing and being disappointed. I hate waiting, I'm super impatient. I hate pathetic people, and I have little time for people who want to be ridiculous and petty. I am a little anal about spelling and people who don't use captial letters.
I love to laugh, read, write, believe, hope, dream, listen.
If I could do anything in the world? I'd write and travel and be free and independent and grow the hell up and stop worrying so much about what others want me to do and just be free. I think it's coming, and it's going to be soon.
I'm also going to stop being the girl who chases the unattainable and hopes her heart won't get broken. I'm going to stop chasing the boys who can't love me back the way I deserve, who I know well enough to know can't be settled enough to be with me and not hurt me.
I collect shot glasses. I love snail mail. I love lazy Sundays, sunshine, cold beer, coca cola, and Post Secret. I love being a dreamer, a wishful thinker, I love London, and I can't wait to see New York. I love my Chuck Taylors, I love dressing up, I love dressing down. I love dogs, I love honesty, I love "one day," and I'd pretty much marry Mark Salling if I was given the choice.
