This is the story of a girl...

Nov 02, 2010 23:33

I've decided and pretty much have been for a while anyway, that all non-fic related entries will now be friends only. Soo... before you decide whether or not you want to friend me to read all the stuff I post about that isn't actual fic, I figured I'd make a post that is probably long overdue about myself.

1. I have to lj-cut a lot, because I'm wordy, yo. )

life, this is me... now.

Well, since you're my only LJ friend, it's nice to get to know a little about you. =P We actually share a lot of similarities. I'm also 22, I worked in a bookstore for almost 4 years up until a few months ago (although, I will probably go back soon for part-time work). I haven't put my degree to use either, so I'm actually applying to go back to school for a teaching certification in January and hope to be working by August. I'm a bit nervous about it, tbh. I also consider myself a bit of a nerd, a tomboy, and a wishful thinker.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hi. :)

Wow, we do have a lot in common. What did you do your degree in?

Yay for getting to know LJ friends! Hi back! ;)

I got it in Biology. My parents were pushing hard for me to go into healthcare because it's stable and pays well, but I just never really wanted that for myself. I didn't (and still don't) really know what I DID want, though, so I just stuck with something I did well with just to get out of school in four years since I had a scholarship.

I have a degree and still have no idea what I want either. I just feel like we're young and we've got a while to make decisions about where life will go. *shrug* *crosses fingers* at least, that's what I'm hoping.

Haha enough to come to the OF exhibition with me? :P

Are we having a Sons of Anarchy date tonight? Otherwise I'll look forward to the PM later.

Have a great day - hope it's less stressful for you.

Oh I loved reading this. We have a lot of things in common especially I find in the last paragraph. And you know I don't think I ever knew your name was Melissa, I always just thought it was Lissa.

Aww your icon made me smile.

What do we have in common? I love having stuff in common with people! Obviously, aside from our CrAsh love and our Percy/Annabeth love. I swear, I owe you for life for convincing to push them up my reading list so you had someone to squee with, because I'm probably going to finish the book I'm reading now and then start the series over again.

That's funny! I guess it never really needed to come up that my name was just a nickname, and I'm kinda content to just be called whatever... Although Melissa makes me feel like I'm in trouble. Haha.

I'm so glad that you loved P/A and the series, I would have been very sad if you didn't.

Things that we have in common (I copied the list instead of just having to write it out because there were a lot of things, lol:
I hate disappointing and being disappointed. I hate waiting, I'm super impatient. I hate pathetic people, and I have little time for people who want to be ridiculous and petty.
If I could do anything in the world? I'd write and travel and be free and independent
I love snail mail. I love lazy Sundays, sunshine, coca cola, I love being a dreamer, a wishful thinker, I love London, and I can't wait to see New York. I love dressing up, I love dressing down. I love honesty,

Since you were nice enough to introduce yourself I really should break through a little of my paranoia about putting anything about myself on the 'net and at least try to return the favour.

I'm 28 and I had no clue what I wanted to do when I finished uni. I bummed around a bit until I more or less fell into a job I love.

I read a lot and always have. my current obsessions are the J.D. Robb In Death series and Eoin Colfer. My favourite classic literature type book is Crime and Punishment but I love my easy to read as well.

Music just to do an overview - Artists starting with M - Marc Cohn, Marcia Hines, Mariah Carey, Metallica, Michael Buble, Mike Posner, Miles Davis, Missy Higgins, Montgomery Gentry, Monty Python, Mumford and Sons.

I get on better with my parents and sister when were not living in the same house.

I figure its sometimes worth chasing the unattainable, as long as I keep in mind the difference between what seems to be unattainable and what I know isn't really in my interests.
