The 'logical' reason as presented (if you really didn't care about the proposition and just got the ads on TV) was that "voting no on Prop 8 will make them teach about gay marriage in schools ... because they teach about all marriages in schools as part of the health curriculum". Also, "voting no on Prop 8 will make our churches lose non-profit status when they refuse to perform these marriages". It's a bullshit argument, but the no on 8 folks didn't adequately rebut those arguments from what I heard.
But there is rebuttal for it. I'm not the one to do it since I'm short on the facts, but I know I didn't learn about marriage in school AND I'm pretty sure I learned about homosexuality in school.
And I do have the disclaimer that if they would now change their vote, okay then. But people who are getting educated and still want to vote Yes... I can't help but draw a line. I know people hurt by this.
