a geek is me

I think the costume designers on the Pirates movies must have the best time designing costumes. I especially love that they've had Kiera Knightley in men's clothes fors the better part of the movies- they suit her, frankly- to the extent that she's effectively more of a leading man than Orlando Bloom. Check out these: 1 2 3Rowr. I know she's mostly ( Read more... )

OMG the gold brocade might actually overtake the naval uniform from Pirates 1 as my favorite thing ever. Wow. So hot. (Scowly is not a problem!)

I don't care about Spiderman, but otherwise my list is a lot like yours. I feel like there was another movie I was excited about, but I can't place it.

Dude, I know! All of Kiera Knightley's movies should feature her in drag. I did like her in pirate togs, though; if she'd just lost the braid. (I'm hoping for a sudden resurgence of short-short hair on movie actresses. This obviously has nothing to do with my own haircut.)

You forgot one. ni_q March 30 2007, 23:01:47 UTC
Transformers, directed by Michael Bay. It's going to be so awfully overthetop it wil be awesome.

I don't know if you care about tbe Bourne movies, but I thought they were pretty good, and there's one of those coming out.

Wait, there's another one coming out? I don't half-mind the Bourne films, although I do wish they hadn't killed off my girl Franka Potente's character.
Dude, let Transformers be. You can't let nostalgia for the late 80's and early 90's ruin your movie-watching life.

I totally agree with you about that one. They should never have killed her off. Kory and I are excited to see the next one though.

Fuckin' word, maaan. A few weeks ago, I was walking down Jackson and saw this girl in a tweed blazer, button-down, khakis, total professor chic, with short spiky hair- and was like, damn. That's a look. (Oh, butch ladies, you don't know how much we purportedly breeder girls appreciate you...)

movie i am excited about is the aaron sorkin about the iran contra affair (with tom hanks in the lead?) also, according to pitchfork, sorkin is writing the book for a lavish broadway musical of 'yoshimi battles the pink robots.'

This one, then? Charlie Wilson's War
Also, omigosh, Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. I think I caught a bit on that on NPR or something.
I'm not sure why they tossed Sandman into the mix on Spider-man 3, frankly. How many villains does any given movie need? Especially considering that Harry Osbourne will presumably be taking up his father's mantle as the Green Goblin. And, full disclosure, I loved the first two.
