I'll take 'Iowa' for 2008, Alex.

Obama is fine. I'll take Obama. Maybe he'll flesh out his platform now. Still waiting for the next/first female president- Nick mentions some congresswoman from Kansas as a possibility. It sure as heck ain't Feinstein or Pelosi or Clinton, although I couldn't tell you why beyond that people seem to dislike elderly women in positions of power. ( Read more... )

I don't like her because she's running to the right- but I'd take her. Obviously, I'd take her, given the alternative.

He's not so very fundy as fundies go; plus he has more social justice awareness than the other candidates.

... of course, I'm operating on the assumption that he won't get past the general. (SEND A PICTURE OF MY DOILY NOW NOW NOW NOW.)

Wait so who's the one from the south who wanted to quarantine AIDS patients? I'm just irritated with his homosexuality is a choice and abortion should be be illegal platform, yadda yadda. Not that you were defending him, but I just feel like someone should let the Republican party know they aren't running for president of some mega-church or something, but rather for US president.

edited because i can't spull. spellz?!

Dude, I KNOW. I KNOW. But he's good on the poor and on illegal immigrants. Given that every asshole contending for the Republican nomination will make the obligatory nods to homophobes, anti-choicers and racists, he's almost preferable.
Again, working on the assumption that he's not going to win here. At least he's not 1.) a fascist (Giu-giu) 2.) a hairdo (Rom-rom) or 3.) a reanimated corpse (Thom-thom!).

How long before a Ron Paul fanatic finds this post, and the subsequent siege ensues?

Having a female president would be nice, but I wouldn't want one for the sake of having one. I don't particularly trust Clinton, and her opinions regarding certain issues, such as her part in the crusade against violent video games (no, it's not a moral/ethical issue on the level of abortion rights, but I still care about it), never really stood well with me.

I'm sorry.... your friend has no one to blame but himself. Never let your mate tell you who to vote for.

Oh, I'm quite aware of that. Members of the forum have already starting mocking him for it.

... I wouldn't mock him for it, but jeez. If she convinces you, it's another thing, but it's your vote, for god's sakes.
