She was such an icon, and it's unfortunate ... though, for the times she grew up in, not uncharacteristic ... that she didn't get both more joy and more money out of being that person we see in the photos. Or, at least, out of portraying that person. ;-)

I have a bowling-type black shirt that is completely understated and normal looking except for the buttons, which have little reproductions of Bettie Page photos under clear plastic. It sneaks up on people, much like Bettie's naughty/nice sexuality.

She'll be missed.
