I am soooo with you. I'm 25 in a month and have only *just* started really singing proper spinto rep. It feels wonderful, but I still worry that people will say "you're too young for that."

I'm waiting to find out whether I made it through to the finals of a competition.... sigh.

BIG CONGRATULATIONS on your fantastic achievement!

Thanks! I'm so glad to know someone else shares the frustrations. It's a little annoying because I'm only 22. I'm doing standard lyric rep at the moment, and trying to keep everything light. I just want to let the dog go out and run a little bit sometimes. It's frustrating when your teacher tells you "Too loud!" and you're not pushing or trying to be loud as much as you're attempting to just let your voice stretch itself out for a little while.

Congrats to you too. I'm sure you did well. According to this girl I know, you've already won because you've got a big voice. ;) I mean, you don't even have to have good technique, according to her.

Go girl! I wish I could have been there to see you chew that chica out, I would have backed you up with a sturdy "Yeah!"...or something equally eloquent. I'm so proud of you and I always have been. I think it's cooler than cooler to have a top brass opera singer for a sister. Keep doin' your thing, babe. Do it, and do it well!
