I am very tempted to do a little research into the ‘priestess’ figure, as presented by women who define themselves today as priestesses (as distinct from women priests).

Your word transgression carries the ambiguity of the exercise: is it, following its etymology (trans-gredior) a simple 'going beyond' (some sort of limit or barrier), or does it carry the load of 'going too far' as often in Christian discourse (and in fact inthe parallel term 'trespass' as in the Lord's Prayer)?
