Normally I like Malick, but THE THIN RED LINE was just flat-out unwatchable.

It comes to the verge of losing me quite a few times but then it brings me back with some unspeakably beautiful shot or a great piece of writing. I can definitely see how many people would not like it. It's pretty self-indulgently Malick all the way through.

I agree about Cars. I know that if NASCAR hadn't been part of my upbringing I wouldn't have enjoyed it half as much.

I very much enjoyed X-Men First Class.
