Yay! I finished Saiyuki!

Well, it turned out that I enjoyed the whole Homura arc quite a bit, but if I'm really honest with myself, in some respects it's just too good to be part of the regular series.  There's a lot to like about "regular" Saiyuki; it's charming and funny and the characters have plenty of emo baggage, and I adore it just the way it is, but the Homura arc

if you're going to watch weiss kreuz i must warn you - don't pay too much attention to the actual animation
it's infamously bad - for a reason

there is a scene where one of the main characters has no legs...
so be warned, the whole series is awfultacular! but the animation was probably done by homeless people in exchange for watery soup or something

LOL ok. I've had a thing for Yohji and Schuldig for ages, so no matter how bad the actual anime is, I probably won't care. Come to think of it, I've chosen my favorite pairings from a lot of anime series long before I ever got around to actually *watching* them. I'm just wierd that way. But I suppose it's a testament to the fic writers skill that I'm so comfortable with a pairing and love it so much (like Sanzo & Gojyo) that when I do get around to seeing the anime, it's a perfect fit and feels like I've known it all along. Hrm... I wish the next episode of Saiyuki Reload would hurry up and arrive in the mail....

I've tried like 3 or 4 times to get into WK, and for some reason, it just never seems to reel me in - I guess I should try again

I can explain Weiss Kreuz and turn you into a huge fan
because weiss isn't for watching it's for life

skip the series entirely, it's not great, go straight to the fandom, there are some truly amazing fanfics and art
they take the hints that is all the characterisation the series bothers with and create wonders
there are some gorgeous artworks and they set up Gluhen which is well written and adult but has that ending, then there is Side B which is glorious and ended too soon
