Chapter 2

The next morning Takato woke up because the chirping of birds annoyed him. He opened his eyes and felt his head aching. Looking around he noticed that he honestly had no clue where he was. ‘What happened yesterday?! And WHERE am I?’ “Mhh…” He heared a person sighing next to him. Hesitatingly he turned over to see what was going on. His breath suffocated. ‘S-Sleeping beauty…’ A moment later he realized: ‘What the heck did I do? Who is this?’ Then the blondehaired person turned his head and tried to focus on Takato: “Nhh… so you’re awake?” Takato got startled: “Uh..eh…yeah...” Taishi smiled seeing he reacted this timid. He sat up and scratched his head. “What are you staring at?” - “Uhm…what…I’m sorry, but where am I and who are you”, asked Takato shyly. Taishi was a bit disappointed: “So you forgot everything. Yesterday you were totally over the hill. You weren’t able to even stand on your own or remember where you live. That’s why I brought you over to sleep at my place…” Hearing what Taishi said made Takato realize: “Waaah! What about Leena?!! I am the worst cousin ever!!!!” Taishi stopped his sobbing: “Don’t worry, she’s fine. I drove her home.” “You did? Thank you, thank you!” Takato embraced and squeezed him tightly that it was hard for Taishi to breathe. He blushed and his heartbeat increased. Memories from the previous events came back to his mind. Takato was getting all grateful and refused to let go, again. The scent of the one he embraced captured him. The feeling of Taishi‘s hair tickeling his nose was lovely. “Stop that! There is no need to get all worked up like that. It’s natural to do something like that.”, he said with calm voice. Takato started to pull Taishi tighter to himself: “What happened yesterday? I am upset that I can’t remember…” Taishi pushed his hands away gently: “Don’t mind. I will forget it as well.” After saying this he stood up and Takato could see all of him what caused his nose to bleed. Taishi saw it, reached him a tissue and put on his pants. He went into the kitchen without saying another word, leaving his guest behind in confusion. Like a dog he rushed after him. As he entered the kitchen he saw Masaru making coffee: “Take a seat. Would you like a cup of coffee?”, he asked as politely as he could. “Uhm,…yes, thank you.” While they drank the hot liquid Taishi tried to start a chat: “So, Leena is your cousin?” “Un, yeah… You know her?” “Yes.” Awkward silence filled the room and both continued drinking. “What are you looking at”, asked Taishi then. Takato couldn’t take his eyes from him. His whole appearance was captivating. His green eyes sparkled in the morning sun and his gaze was piercing. Thin lips which seemed to be perfectly suited for kissing. His hair was silky and flowing over his forehead. Fine fingers that stroked it majestically out of his sight. Then his body. His shoulders were broad yet tender. Kissmarks appeared on his collarbone and neck. ‘Was that me?’ The thought about that got him depressed again ‘Why can’t I remember…’ He sighed.
“Oi!”, Taishi’s voice awakened him from his daydreaming. “Huh? Oh, sorry. But I can’t get the thought out of my head that you are beautiful” He smiled saying this. Taishi was startled. “Please stop saying such things. They are making me feel uncomfortable.” “Ah, sorry.” He scratched his head and tried to not stare at Taishi but it was difficult for him. “You don’t seem like someone Leena would be around. But I’m glad she does” Taishi’s facal expression didn’t change: “Why is that, if I may ask?” Taishi’s voice was calm and slightly sarcastic. Takato liked it: “You take good care of her. And you’re very kind. So I am happy to know that she has someone to rely on. Me, I can’t be around all the time and when I do, I am a good-for-nothing cousin haha”
He laughed and took a look at the time “Oh crap!!” “What’s the matter?”, Taishi asked more out of manners than out of ministration. “My part-time-job… I… I have to be at home by 10!! Argh!!” He squirmed around, searching for his clothes. He couldn’t find his shirt anywhere and panicked. “Here”, Taishi reached out and gave him his shirt. “Ah, thanks”, Takato’s face turned red again and he wanted to say something not knowing what. “I can drive you, if you want to”, Taishi offered to calm his guest. “You..You would do that? You are so kind!!” Takato wanted to embrace him but Taishi’s hand pushed his face away slowly. “That’s not necessary.” Depressed Takato accepted the refusal and trotted behind Taishi. They changed few words.

Takato sat in the passanger’s seat sulking. He was glooming. Allthough he was able to ignore it for about ten minutes, Taishi asked him what the matter was. Takato sighed: “It’s nothing… You have to go left the next turn.” When they arrived Takato invited Taishi for breakfast at his apartment which was accepted more or less. After all he hadn’t anything to do. He didn’t have afternoon lessons and although it was Saturday it would have been like the days before: He, sitting at home and researching for upcoming tests. Rather than doing that he much likely could just have breakfast with Leena’s cousin who he had almost slept with the night before… he immediately pushed that thought aside and focused on beeing happy about the invitation.

Takato was nearly floating towards his apartment. Again Taishi had the vision of a child jumping around. When he entered the hallway he was kind of shocked. It was a really tiny flat. The living room was small and connected with the kitchen. Two doors were right opposite to the entrence. One led to the bath room, the other one to the bed room which stood open. It was messy. Books, magazines and maruchan-noodle cups covered the floor and they were covered by clothes. “Ah it’s a bit messy, sorry hehe” Takato made room for Taishi using his foot to shove the books to the side. Taishi seemed to be in the wrong place. He, always fully styled just like now. He was wearing a jeans, a black sweatshirt which by the way was very fitting, a simple collar and a white coat. His hair bound together with strands of hair hanging over his face. He hadn’t had the time to tie his hair properly that morning. Yet it suited him. “Nah, don’t worry.” He sat down on the chair observing his surroundings. Takato again was squirming around tidying his apartment as good as possible then rushing in the kitchen. “What do you want to eat? No, don’t tell me!…You look like you like…miso!” Taishi was astonished: “How did you know?” Takato patted his own shoulder laughing in a ridiculous voice: “Har har! I have an eye for that! And it appears that my miso is the best in the world!” He then immediately started searching for pots and ingredients. He was so chaotic and noisy doing this that Taishi smiled. “It’s obvious that you are related to Leena”, he judged making Takato stop to reply: “Huh? Is that so?” Taishi nodded: “Certainly. She is just as clumpsy and cheerful as you” Takato smiled and nodded but then continued to cook for his lovely guest not noticing he was watched.
He was guilelessly trying his hardest to make the best miso he would ever make. ‘Why am I so excited just because he is here? I don’t even know him. God, I am such an idiot. Oh, it’s already starting to boil!’ Taishi took off his coat and put it behind his seat. The smell of Takato’s cooking filled the room. It smelled good. At this point Taishi noticed that he actually was hungry: “That smells really good!” “See? I told you. The best in the world. Wait until you try it! Oh, I haven’t asked you. What do you want to drink?” Taishi wasn’t thirsty but he wanted to keep the conversation alive: “What can you offer?” “Oh, wait let me see.” Takato went over to the fridge and opened the door: “Well, I could offer you orange juice, root beer or I could make tea or coffee. Your choice!” He kept thinking for a few seconds then ordered a tea.
Two minutes later they sat together at the table. Takato waited anxiously for Masaru’s first sip. He watched him closely. He wanted to see which expression he would make when trying the soup. And as Taishi tried it he was surprised. It DID taste delicious. Seeing how it was produced it was a miracle something so delicious would turn out. Takato could see those green orbs sparkle. “How’s it? You like it?” He was getting nervous. “Yes, it is good.”, said the reserved blonde trying to hide how much he enjoyed his cooking. Looking at Takato’s satisfied and stupidly grinning face made him smile mentally. They had a nice and relaxed chat. So it appeared that Masaru’s studying politics, literature and philosophy. He lives alone and is supported by his parents yet not with his consent. Time went by fast and Taishi was on his way out: “Maa, I be heading back then. Thanks for the treat.” “What? You’re leaving already?” Takato was disappointed. Masaru put on his coat and pulling out the hair that was burried by it: “Yes, didn’t you have to go on a part time job you have to attempt?” “That’s…That’s in 30 minutes. So there is still time left.” He didn’t want to part with him now. Not like this after getting to know him a bit. No, even earlier he was upset because of the departure which was inevitably ahead of them. He couldn’t understand himself a bit anymore. But Taishi reacted cold: “There’s no reason to bother you any further. It was nice to meet you.” He was about to leave through the door as Takato reached for him and grabbed his arm: “Masaru!” Taishi’s heart stopped for a second. ‘He remembered my name?‘ It was unusual for him to be called this personal. “I… Can I see you again?” Masaru didn’t turn around. He didn’t want him to see how embarrassed he was right now. The truth was, he also didn’t want to part from him. It was rare for him to like people. But Takato was different. “I’ll be in the bar from yesterday next Saturday.” Takato was frozen. ‘Did he actually say yes?! This is a dream, it must be!’ “Okay…” His hands slipped and Masaru got in the car.
After closing the door behind him he suddenly felt overwhelmingly happy. He started to shine and jump around. Then after circling around four times he became nervous. ‘This…is a date, isn’t it? Yes, it is! It is! Tihi!’ He got happy again and circled around the kitchen now while cleaning up. With sudden movement it came to him ‘Wait! He is a man. I am going to date a MAN!!…but a beautiful man! A beautiful, nice and lovely man!’ He jumped around breaking plates and glasses without caring about anything anymore.

Right at time 10 o’clock the doorbell rang. It was his part time job. He opened it and in front of him stood a pretty and cute girl: “Uhmm, excuse me. Are you….(she’s reading a little note)…Takato Atsushi?” Takato again laughed stupidly: “Yes, I sure am” The girl poppt an eyebrow: “Ah yes…err... here are the pets. I’ll be back in four hours. This one here, his name is Ta-chan. Be patient with him, he got abused when he was a puppy so he is very shy. And Aki-chan here just had an castration so take care that he doesn’t rip the stiches open. That’s it. Later!” And off she was. Infront of Takato sat six dogs. One Retriever, two dolmations, a Chihaha, a Yorkshire terrier and a Bernadine which drueled more than normal. Ta-chan was the retriever and the one who now was sterile was the Bernadine. After letting them inside first thing the dolmations did was eating some of his books and magazines. Aki-chan went straight to the kitchen searching for left-overs, the Yorkshire terrier tried to catch his tail and the chihaha was nowhere to be seen. Takato sighed ‘What did I get myself into with this? But I need the money…’ He got in the kitchen to prepare food for the pets.
After an hour everyone calmed down exept Takato. He was facing a battlefield. It was a mess before, true, but now it was hopless. Paperpieces all over, a table lying upside down covering the couch, and stuffed fat dogs where the eyes could reach. The dog sitter was about to cry as he felt something wet and cold rubbing against his palm. It was Ta-chan. When he reached out to stroke him he squirmed and backed away fast. “I see. You don’t have to be afraid.” He kneeled down. “I know someone who has the same name as you have. Perhaps you are alike? You have the same hair color at least.” Takato laughed then reached a little treat to lure the shy puppy. It was nearly a year old, still very young. ‘It’s a pitty that someone is able to hurt such a cute animal’ he thought to himself. “But now everything will be allright again, ne?” The dog smelled the alluring scent of the treat and couldn’t resist the natural urge to approach it. Yet other approaches were useless. Then a funky smell caught his nose. He turned around to find a dolmation littering himself in the middle of the living room. “NO! What are you doing?!!” The dolmation didn’t let himself bother by the screaming person waving his hands and dancing around oddly. He finished his buissness and then went into to kitchen to eat. “Haah…”, Takato sighed. “This is going to be a long day…” But he knew that after this day there will only be six days left untill he would see Taishi again.
