Shortforms sometimes makes me angry.

I'd just like to take the moment to say how much I really, really hate the term "animanga". -_- Is it really that hard to write "anime/manga" or "anime and manga"? I don't know why it bothers me so much, I really don't. "Chara" also bothers me for some reason. ._.

I AM PERTURBED BY SPECIFIC SHORTFORMS. ;_; RAGE.

I thought that animanga was a name for those silly comics that took screencaps from a series and made them into a comic. You know, a really cheap cash-in?

Oh, yeah. :D I dunno why they don't just say "film book" like they do in Japan since that's pretty much where they got the idea from. :/ IT STILL ANGERS ME REGARDLESS. 8[

It also kinda makes me mad because the film books they release here suck in comparison to the ones they release in Japan, from what I've seen. XD I should flip through an Inuyasha one and see what it's like. Maybe they got better?

What I've been trying to remember is what the old English term is for that format. o_O

I know that the current wave of books is based on the Japanese film books, but the format did exist over here in the late 70s/early 80s for comics based on movies. I remember seeing an really old movie-screenshot-comic tie-in from that era in the storeroom of my high school library. This was back in 1997. For the life of me, I don't remember what movie it was.
