He's entitled to his sports opinion, and he's expressed it. Move on. This is not a serious issue.

With all due respect, there are as many or more sports columnists who loathe the BCS.

The BCS is a flawed and failed concept. The only reason we have it is to prop up the bank accounts of a couple of fat cats. That's a bad reason to keep the program.
