It was a cold Monday morning, Erin was going to go to the café nearby and read her book. Usually, she would head off to the library and read but she felt like a change , and because she wanted a nice warm drink. She was walking along when she found a small café and went inside. She sat down at a table and decided to order hot chocolate.
“Hi, what would you like today?” said a waiter. His name tag read “Yabu”.
“Hot chocolate please,” she replied, taking her book out.
“Oh~ Nice choice. Perfect for the weather outside.” He said as he took her order.
A few minutes later, he came back with a white cup full of hot chocolate. He set it down on the table carefully and told her to enjoy her drink. Before Erin drank it, she saw that he used the chocolate powder to draw a snowman on the foam. Erin smiled and made a mental note to come more often.
As the days past, Erin kept going back to see Yabu’s “drawings”. One day, she went there and got her cup of hot chocolate but she couldn’t tell what the drawing was. She decided that she would call him back and ask. But it would be the first time she would be doing such a thing.
“Yabu-san?” she called. He heard her and started to make his way to her table.
“Hi. Just call me Kota, ok? You’re coming very often now, regular-san,” he smiled. Erin was happy that he recognised her.
“Oh, I’m Erin. I was just wondering what you drew on my hot chocolate. I can’t seem to figure it out,” she laughed.
“Eh? It’s so obvious!” Yabu moved behind her and put his face next to hers. “It’s a turtle,”
“That’s a weird looking turtle.” Erin said trying to hide her blush.
From that day on, they got closer and friendlier to eachother.
One day, Yabu gave Erin her usual hot chocolate, but didn’t say anything and went to serve others.
Erin looked ar her cup and the powder on top read;
"スキ"
When Erin left to pay the cashier dude, Yabu was cleaning her table wondering if she would ever come back but as he cleaned, he sae that she wrote on the napkin.
“I like you too”
This made Yabu so happy that he went out to chase Erin, not caring about his boss. He finally catches up to her and pulls her into his arms and asked, “Will you be my girlfriend?”.
Erin hugged him back to answer his question. Then, Yabu kissed Erin gently in the middle of the street not caring about the people around them. To him, Erin was the only one he could see.
