Be sure to get a Berliner, if you can, and have a great trip!

Are you sure pigs knuckles isn't an American "German" dish? But good luck with the search, I'm waiting to see the food pics.

hi stan!
I am living in germany and I wanted to help you out with your pig knuckles...if I am not misstaken you are talking about a speciality that is known for bavarian cuisine, it is called 'schweinshaxn' (='a pig's foot' in bavarian dialect)...you pronounce it:shwines huckson....;)
so you might try and find a restaurant which is trimmed to serve bavarian food, too...a biergarten would be perfect actually...
I can understand why you are looking for them, they are quite tasty!!!;)
if you ever come to munich(in a few weeks would actually be a perfect time to do that since the annual oktoberfest is starting again and there they serve another delicious meal:ochsensemmel...mmmh)I could show you around!
(can find me on the dojo:coolray85..)
peace

Hello Stan,
it was a real pleasure to show you around; one of this years highlights, I'd dare say. Special greetings from my three women as well.

Thomas
