I came across a weird but very interesting book on British traditions. One in particular caught my attention. It had ta do in regards ta tha wedding. The garter toss was originally an ol' British tradition called "fling the stocking." After a couple was married, tha guests would run in ta tha couples bedroom an' steal their stockings

I can think of a few that seem at least just as strange as that. Did you know, for instance, that the Scottish have a custom known as "Blackening The Bride" in which they suprise the bride-to-be and pelt her with various foul substances and then proceed to parade her around town?
