Revenge. Punishment. Justice.

The line is so narrow between them, how does one find a balance?

An asskicking's an asskicking. Don't bother with nitpicky shit like what you're supposed to call it, just go kick asses!

It should mean something.

Who cares about crap like "justice"? If someone's done something to you, you beat them up. Really, stop being so picky about what it's called.

Beating him, killing him... it would all mean nothing in comparison to what he has done.

Where did this come from? Is this about Bat?

He hasn't approached you, has he?

This has nothing to do with anything he's done here.

Why do y'need a balance? The bastard deserves whatever you want to give him.

Merely killing him will change nothing, and he will learn nothing.

Indeed, the line between those three things is a narrow one, often becoming hard to follow, at times. You have to look at revenge, punishment, and justice in shades of gray... Three things that aren't meant to be looked at separately, but in a haze... blended together in such a beautiful manner that one is able to execute all three perfectly within the same breath.

It does not seem so simple.

Oh? [He laughs lightly] How would you propose one execute punishment without stepping into the boundaries of justice or revenge if it's not as simple as I said?

My problem is less the execution of punishment then it is being able to find a punishment fitted to the crime.

There can be honor in all three, as long as you know where you are going after the deed is done.

...I avenged Lupa's death by killing Varin. Afterwards, I resolved to live my life by everything he taught me.

Killing Bat will change nothing. It will not ease my pain or bring back my tribe. What comes after seems to matter very little right now.
