Well this was certainly an interesting show. We got to Foxwoods a little early to enjoy the casino beforehand. We treked from the MGM to Foxwoods to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. It was packed, but lucky for us this couple was leaving and gave us their buzzer instead of giving it back to the lady at the door. It just so happened Art from Everclear was at the Hard Rock and was going to play some songs for the people at the restaurant, but our dinner was done before he began playing. I got a pretty good veggie burger. It was topped with grilled zucchini and yellow squash, which was interesting but it was also very good. After that we went back to MGM and I lost too much money and then we went to see our seats. They were in the very last row but it didn't make them bad. It was a clear view to the stage. The ticket said the show started at 8, and it actually did start at 8. No opener, Morrissey wasted no time getting out and starting the show. He is phenomenal sounding live. So good.
Here's what he played:
This Charming Man
Black Cloud
When I Last Spoke To Carol
How Soon Is Now?
Irish Blood, English Heart
Let Me Kiss You
I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris
How Can Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel?
Seasick, Yet Still Docked
The Loop
I Keep Mine Hidden
The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores
Ask
Best Friend On The Payroll
Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself
One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell
Death Of a Disco Dancer
Sorry Doesn't Help Us
Something Is Squeezing My Skull
I'm OK By Myself
Now, two things to mention. First off, Morrissey sweats on his back in a heart shape.
Photographic evidence!
So that's that. The other thing was the encore.
There wasn't one.
They returned to the stage afterwards in preparation to do one, but when they got ready to play Boz's amp wasn't working. Morrissey waited around for a little while, but then said "until next time" and left the stage. It seemed like a joke until the house lights came on. Kind of a bad taste, but he was so good live. I just wish they could have found a way to fix the problem. The show was over by 9:30. We were back in town by 11. Morgan seemed to be enjoying the show up until that point, but by now she thinks he was a jerk for doing that. I can understand that, but the amp wasn't his fault, and it wasn't likely a quick fix. I'm out on that decision still.
But anyways, that was that. I did have a wonderful time and I was glad to have saw him.
