I'm writing my review for the Doctor Who Easter Special. To make me feel better. Don't know if it will post though, because the interwebs are kind of on-again off-again. Mostly off. Again.
Solid agreement on all points there. I really enjoyed it. As another LJer of my acquaintance put it: it's the Doctor and a hot lady kicking ass: this is why we love Doctor Who. And I just love the fact that Christina was the one to blithely take charge of the situation, Romana-style. When she took off at the end, I yelled, "I'm an international jewelry thief AND I HAVE A FLYING BUS! FUCK YOU!" XD
"People on a bus yelling at me!"
When the police detective said "Call in UNIT!": Shellie: Not Torchwood? Me: *sardonic look* Who would YOU call? Shellie: ...good point.
And yes, very excited about the return of the Master! I almost bounced off the sofa (or would have, if my leg permitted it) at "He will knock four times..."
And it was really impressive that her only freak out moment was "There are DEAD PEOPLE in my hair?!!??" XD Now I'm just waiting for the loads of fic detailing her adventures in that bus. She can do anything from there. And then meet up with the Doctor later for another Cary Grant-Audrey Hepburn adventure!
Hahahaaa, oh why would you ever call Torchwood? I can just imagine Jack staring at the wormhole with his coat billowing, and... that's pretty much it. XD
I squeaked. Really loud. Poor Doctor and his bad luck with psychic news.... Of course, they've set us up for the most dramatic entrance ever. Kelsey said, "they should just have him rap quick on the TARDIS door four times to get rid of the tension." ^_^
I'm a little surprised that I haven't seen a single Lady Christina fic summary pass through my Teaspoon RSS feed. It's a bit depressing, really.
Mind you, now I want to see how Magambo would react to Jack. I may have to write this. Something to do with UNIT and Torchwood both getting called to a scene, whereupon Gwen would have a heart-to-heart with Malcolm, who would be hit on by Jack as soon as he got the brush-off from Magambo (which of course would only pique Jack's interest further) and it would finally take Ianto to do whatever the obvious thing was to fix the problem at hand. XD
I think I shouted something like "I KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!" Shellie gave me a really puzzled look, I rapped out the beat on the chair, and she went "Ohhhh..." Man, this finale is going to be a wild ride.
Also, the trailer for "The Waters of Mars"? I am so excited. If it's even a fraction as creepy and unsettling as it looks, I'll be happy, because god don't I love the creepy and suspenseful Who stories.
*is having luck with the interwebs today, so this might post*
I think I'm more amused that RTD said that he was leaving it open-ended so that he could let another writer bring the Master back. And then apparently couldn't resist doing it himself. Oh, Russel....
I'm just hoping Malcolm comes back every once in a while. He's too fun a character to make a one-time appearance and then be gone.
I heard that there was a fight between the BBC and another network because they wanted Freema for another series. Instead of handling it like adults, they all got pissy and it resulted in them having to write Freema out of Torchwood S3. Don't know if things have changed since the last time I checked, but I haven't heard anything different. It makes me saaad.
