It was a religious observance, but is these days more a holiday associated with over-indulging and presents.

We have something like it, but that's really just a time for families to come together and spend time with one another. It's not much like it is here.

Not when there were other things to do at the time. Paperwork doesn't stop for the holiday seasons, and neither do Hollows.

[That and Momo or Rangiku were always busy, and getting away to visit his Grandmother was always too hard. Someone had to stay and work.]
