Nanao stood by the entrance to Sprout tower, breath steaming in the crisp air. Violet City was certainly more... traditional than Newbark and Cherrygrove in some ways, and so Nanao didn't feel too out of place, dressed as she was in her kimono. She'd been wearing it more than her shihakushou, that was true, but that was mainly because the linen ( Read more... )

Hello? Did you know that your 'Gear was on?

...I can't really remember most of the pokemon from the games, but I do remember once catching a Pidgey and evolving it. It got much stronger after that.

...Huh? Yeah, if I can remember correctly, there was a game like this back in the late nineties. It was for a handheld gaming platform... I can't recall the name of that, unfortunately.

But yeah. I think that they've expanded on it since those first games.

...You never knew about that?

[Nanao may hesitate to cross those bridges, but Hitsugaya can't afford to hesitate in fear. So he just doesn't look down at the water as he walks, Hyourinmaru the Dratini curled around his neck like a scarf.]

Is there a reason you didn't let Matsumoto or I know you'd arrived in town, Ise?

{OSHI--!! Wellp, time to face the music. Sentarou the Poliwag squeaked cheerfully up at Hyourinmaru the Dratini, from where she was somewhat ensconced in Nanao's bosom}

I - uh. No, Captain, not one that you'd accept.

{Apart from her mun being laaazy and forgetful}

I apologise.

[Hyourinmaru blinks then seems to purr down at Sentarou. Hello there, little tadpole. Though Nanaos reaction earns her a raised eyebrow and a decidely stern look. But his tone is even as he speaks, and not at all harsh.]

Try me.

{But how does you purr without a mouth - the tadpole seemed to say. She weathers that stern look; for instance, Shigekuni-sama is much more terrifying.}

The truth is, Captain, I'm not even sure myself. I think I was scared, that you wouldn't be real or -

{She reaches out to him, but stops short of pressing her hand to his chest, right where his heart is.}

Those owl things. They're pretty calm and also smart.

Also I guess Butterfree is technically Flying? I have one and he's pretty damn strong.

Owl things? Oh, Hoothoot! I see... Are they capable of carrying someone?

Butterfree... That's evolved, yes?

... --er.

[Glancing at the Noctowl perched on the end of her bed.]

... They're pretty big, but... no, I don't think they could carry somebody. A small child, maybe.

Neither can Butterfree, now that I think of it. It is evolved though.

... I see.

A pity then, that I am not smaller. {NANAO WHAT U SAY.}

Drat. I suppose, then, that I'll be going with another type of Flying type... although, doesn't Hoothoot and it's evolution have the ability to hit ghosts?

Pidgeys are pretty good, especially when they evolve.

Skarmory as well, but I guess it's also Steel-type according to the Pokedex.

I was tossing up between a Pidgey and a Spearow - mainly as a messenger bird.

And where would I get a Skamory? I think they live up near Blackthorn, or something...

They're both pretty good for battles too, at least from what I've seen from my friends'.

Yeah, they do but I have one that I started with. I could always try this breeding thing I heard of and give you one.

[He...He would just need to figure out how to do it. He does have a Ditto but...how does this even work...]

That would be handy...

What - really? Oh, that would be so kind of you! I am actually a 'breeder', technically, so I could give you some hints... If you wanted.

And I would be happy to trade.
