Episodes Personality: Motochika is a pirate. He’s a loud, abrasive, rough and tumble kind of guy, the kind of guy you’d expect to not only be a pirate, but the head of a pirate army. He calls his crew scumbags and bastards, and he spends his time treasure hunting then fighting to control the country. Hideyoshi Toyotomi has said he has a “narrow worldview”, which is mostly accurate. He’s not great at strategizing, and he’s not exactly subtle with his fighting technique (two weapons, a cannon and a giant shooting anchor). He’s loud, he’s out there, and he’ll tell it like it is. He’s not afraid of anything, not even of dying (which is almost what he did with Hideyoshi, silly Motochika).
That’s not all there is to Motochika, however. He’s a good person deep inside. He’d never turn anyone away if they came to him in need, even if it would strain his remaining resources. He always does what’s right in his mind, no matter the consequences. Keiji Maeda once said that Motochika always keeps his promises. He’ll never back track on what he promised and will go through with it, no matter what. He understands that other people’s lives are very important. People who he’s rescued on his ship and ask to fight, he denies them outright, especially women and children; because they have people who will come back home to them, he doesn’t want them to fight, and tells them to step back and he and his pirates will defend them.
Even though he generally refers to them all as a group, if they ever talk individually, he knows all of his men’s names. He doesn’t treat them like pawns; he treats them like people. Someone who does that to their army pisses them off; which is why he doesn’t like Motonori all too much. He loves his men and someone who would just toss them away like they’re nothing is no friend of his. They’re important to him, like a family. Which is why they call him Aniki, meaning brother.
Despite the ‘narrow worldview’ he supposedly has, he has enough of a view to see that people, not strength is the most important. And even if he didn’t have that, he knows better than to just lay down and let Hideyoshi just take over (“You think you’re what we need to show the world?”), even if it nearly kills him.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Technologically advanced; he’s built two giant ships, and apparently, according to episode 13, a lot of other machines.
+ Strong fighter
+ Strong leader
+Friendly
+Caring; especially about people
+/- Trust, easily trusts
- Very headstrong
- Not a great tactician
- Subtly is not in his dictionary
- Blind in one eye

This is not bad! But I bet I can build it better!
So, I'm in the land of Johto, there are these things called Poke- Corsola - Just wait a minute! You're hyper! Anyways, Pokemon!
What are they, exactly? All I can see is this pink one, covered in spikes! You kno- Cor! Corsola! I said settle down! Hey! Get off! I don't need you poking out the other eye!
Get of- [And there's where the feed ends.]
Third Person Sample: Motochika immediately got that little coral Pokemon out of his Pokeball, and just looked at him for a moment. Blinking lightly down at him. Okay, so what he knew was this was one of those Pokemon things that woman told him about (Mother? Yeah right), and that he was suppose to take care of it. It was pretty much just an animal...
Well, he hoped. He only really knew how to deal with people and animals, and this little guy was definitely not a person. So he was hoping he was dealing with an animal. He got down to try and match eye contact level. And that was easier said than done, really. Because the guy was small! Not even really all that close to his eye level. Even when he bent his knees and got down, the thing was really small.
"Tch. What are you anyways?" Because, hey, this guy might not have anywhere to go, really. The little pink thing just replied "Corsola!", which caused Motochika to chuckle. "Corsola! That's what you are!" He laughed loudly, before reaching forward to pick it up and really bring it to eye length. Not too heavy, at least not for him.
"Can you just say that, or you have more words hidden back there?" Because maybe he could teach the little thing something. Instead, all he got was another "Corsola!" Which made him just blink. Is that all this pink thing could say? "Try saying 'Brother'." Figuring it might be worth a shot. Instead...
"Corsola!"
"No! Brother!"
"Corsola!"
"Brother!"
"Cor... Corsola!"
And he just looked at the thing. "...Then we'll practice that! I'm sure you can say something else!" He chuckled, and moved to put it down on the ground. "But you've got spirit! I think you'll be good here!" He looked down to it, and to the Pokeball in his hand. "Che... you don't need this! You're walking with me, kid!" He chuckled, and started to look towards Route 29. "We're heading this way!"
