[Issei points the camera at himself at first, scowling. His voice is deep, but shakes every once in a while.]

There is a small, purple and yellow girl-monster-thing with me at the moment. It was here when I woke up.

[He turns the camera on a Smoochum, looking up at him innocently.]

It keeps trying to kiss me.First of all, I am never going to ( Read more... )

Ohh... don't put her in a cage!

You do that with small animals, don't you?

They aren't animals.

I assure you, they are sentient. If she's being unruly, you can put her back in her Pokeball...

...that would be these things, I presume? [He reaches to grab one, then taps her on the head with it. Which apparently is enough to make her go back inside.]

It's a breed of Pokémon, not sure what kind, you're kind of stuck with it for the time being, it goes in the Poké Ball, not a cage, and you probably could've read the handbook and found all that out earlier.

Why would I be reading a book in the pouring rain? I haven't even found a place to go inside yet.

...Can rain short-circuit portable electronics? This is the first time I've had something in that category.

Thankfully mine never tried to kiss me. Though I guess it doesn't have lips anyway... But it's not going to go away. They'll find a way to stick to you.

[...on the one hand, adult, therefore reasonable authority figure. On the other hand, man with a bolt through his head. Issei visibly weighs the two before answering.]

What makes it so interested in me? Apart from the fact that I just woke up in a strange place, I'm no different from any of the people who live here.

[Take out the reasonable and you're almost there.]

You own it. Or it owns you. I'm still trying to figure out how they technically see it. My little... Whatever-it's-called kept trying to attach itself to me. Literally.

But I've never seen it before in my life. How did I come into ownership of it?

...the same way I ended up here, I suppose. This creature ought to be the least of my worries.

Oh, I believe it called a Smoochum and she's your Pokemon!

[And slight flail]

O-oh, you shouldn't do that!

...Smoochum. That's a terrible name.

[He points the camera downwards. The Smoochum is molesting kissing his leg.]

I want to put a stop to this. Is that so wrong?

That what their kind are called. You could give her better name if you wish.

No, but she is only doing what is natural to her species...If it bother you could put here back in her Pokeball.

I suppose I'll have to, if only to avoid ever saying that again.

What makes that any different from a cage?

C'mon, don't be like that. It must really like you! Plus, that's a much better greeting than an attempted pickpocketing.

If it were pickpocketing, everyone else would be less sympathetic toward her. Instead, casual molesting proceeds without question.

She's a Pokémon. She's like a pet. Some people think of them as family members. Of course she's going to want to show her appreciation for you.

...pets don't look like girls...

I don't know what I've done to earn her affection. I wouldn't have done it had I known.
