Personality: Natsume comes off as an ice cold and extremely rude person, who always glares at everyone with a deadpan face. Some people call it cool, some call it serious and most people are scared of him, as if he looks like he wants to kill someone. Most people also find him too scary and too difficult to approach for a word or two, and Natsume's extremely rude mouth doesn't make it any easier for anyone. He swears a lot for a kid at his age, he doesn't talk much to anyone else except to his best friend Luca, and no one ever gets a friendly answer from him. He rebels against all authorities with any possible way he can: he's tried to escape from the school, he runs away from his special classes, he openly dislikes the teachers and let's it show often. He calls people with names, all girls look stupid and ugly, he's a very blunt boy and the more people hear his sharp and cruel words to anyone, the better in his opinion. He's always ordering people around him, because almost all of his classmates actually respect him for different reasons (he's cool, he's rebellious and some fear him). He can be extremely stubborn about getting what he wants, or making people go away or doing things his way.
While Natsume can show a deadpan face most of the time, he also has short-temper and he threatens people with fire whenever someone enrages him. It's easy to enrage him, really, you just have to do something stupid enough and including Luca to it always works as Natsume is very protective of him in every way. He's always in a bad mood, especially if he has to be around anyone else than Luca and Yo-chan, and he lets it show with rude words or some devilish behavior. He wants to make people stay away from him and if they don't stay away from him, then he will make them go away from him for good. Natsume is also a perv, even more so because he's only 10. He stole a girl's underwear and later peeked under her shirt, just to comment that there's nothing under it (and at later canon point, when their bodies are a little older on an arc, he grabs the girl's breasts from behind and comments that there's still nothing....). The school is full of rumour about Natsume burning his home village, so many people don't even dare to enrage him, they think that he's dangerous. Natsume doesn't help this image with his behavior, he burns some hairs and sleeves without any hesitation if people make him angry. Natsume's not afraid of anyone... Except one masked person and even that person gets comments just like anyone else from Natsume sometimes. Still, that person can make him run away and hide in fear.
That person is the reason for Natsume's antisocial behavior too. He could be a normal 10 year old boy, but he has to keep himself away from everyone else, or else the others will be in danger. Natsume doesn't want anyone to get into the same darkness where he is. He rather suffers from loneliness than lets Persona hurt other people too. Natsume's actually a very kind person who protects everyone else from getting hurt - he even just proved this by staying behind and letting two of his classmates run away from a situation, though he was about to kill himself as Persona has gotten the idea into his head. (If he doesn't have anything else to do in order to escape from a situation where he's been captured by the enemy, he has to kill himself and everyone in the same space included.) Natsume gets enraged when people hurt his friends, and yes, he considers his classmates as his friends - he just never admits it.
His best friend, Luca, is the only one who knows most things about him, though people have started to learn those things too after a certain girl came to the school. He does have a very soft side for Luca, and that's really (in that canon point) for Luca and a three year old baby boy only. He might smile and laugh with Luca, they never go anywhere without each other, they sleep hand in hand with each other if they sleep close enough to hold hands... Luca is Natsume's pillar of support. Natsume doesn't always smile even in front of him, but a friendly smirk is the same thing to them. He takes the blame for burning his whole home village, even though it was someone else. This boy cares about others, really, he just can't let it show. Sometimes he doesn't even tell everything to Luca if the thing is too bad for his friend to hear. He's not an open person at all, luckily he doesn't even need words with Luca. While he could be an angsty kid, he rather hides all of his feelings behind his usual face and rage. You might trust him (and it's worth it, even though it doesn't look like it with Natsume's devilish tricks - he doesn't mind embarrassing you in front of everyone), but he doesn't trust people easily. You just have to earn his trust.

+ Independent, he'll have no problem with being only 10 year old and alone in the world of Pokemon. He has actually lived 2 years without his family in the middle of adults that he doesn't trust at all.
+ Stubborn, he won't give up easily and usually ends up getting whatever he wants.
+ Cool, calm and collected: to balance his very short-temper, Natsume also has a deadpan face and he can really act like he really doesn't care at all.
x Fire - it was his special skill (alice), and while he hated it all the time, he knows a lot about it and how to use it for his advantage ...whenever he gets a fire type pokemon, that is.

[Let's quit joking! He has no idea what happened after he exploded the place with his fire alice, so he doesn't even know where he's supposed to be.]
From all I know, you could be from the school or from that stupid organization full of idiots... I don't care where this alice came from, nor if I hurt a fellow student to get out of here... I'll make you pay for doing this!

Natsume didn't know how many days they had been on Routes 30 and 31, but what he did know was that he never wanted to see these routes again. Could he go back to New Bark Town and tell that stupid professor that he wanted to change his Starter? Probably not, he was stuck with a hyperactive kitten who chased everything that moved on its own or in the wind. Movements happened all the time and it was extremely frustrating to try and get her back into her ball, just for Aoi to jump out of there on her own soon. It was good that the pokemon levels here weren't high on this area. Not that it mattered much when the Dummy just wanted to chase them, not have a pokemon battle with them unless Natsume told her to use a move. What if she ran into a poison-type or something worse?
They were just about to go to sleep. Skitty was still chasing its tail until it noticed something interesting, there was a Rattata moving near them. "No, not this anymore..." The kitten pokemon made an excited sound to get the rat notice them and the purple rat looked surprised. Natsume was glaring at it, as if he was going to kill it and Skitty looked excited like she had just found her long lost friend. No, not this again. The boy grabbed the kitten's poke ball to return her there, but it was too late. The Rattata fleed and the Skitty rushed after it. "Stupid!" At least it was easy to follow it as long as it kept saying 'nyan' while it was chasing its so called new friend. Natsume sighed, put his shoes back on and ran after them. This was exactly what had been keeping them on the routes for ages. He had already caught a Hoothoot as a result from one of these nights, he wasn't going to catch that rat too.
A few moments later Natsume walked back to his sleeping bag with a sleeping Skitty on his arms. So at least it became tired at the end of days. The boy took the ball out of his pocket and was about to call the kitten back to it, but he stopped his hand. The kitten wasn't going to wake up anytime soon... Maybe she'd wake him up in the morning. Instead of returning the Skitty to its ball, Natsume patted her head and let her sleep on him inside his sleeping bag. Sure, she'd wake him up in the morning or he'd get a shock in the morning because he couldn't find Skitty anywhere. That was okay. He'd find her even if he'd have to run all the way back to Cherrygrove.
He blame his sister for every kind action towards the kitten because he named his starter after her and he really was a good big brother to his little sister in the real world.
