And it was quite the shock when we met. Last time I saw her back home, she was ten years old. Here she's seventeen. She ended up telling me about everything that happened back home those seven years. The details were...a little upsetting to hear, but I needed to hear them. [Because, well, Byrne died the moment before he showed up in Johto. There's no future for him after this place.]

I've heard that people who leave Johto can sometimes return with their memories of being here, but I'm not sure if they remember being in Johto after they go home. It'd make sense logically, especially if they came back with those memories, but I think this world just doesn't understand the concept of 'logic'.

But y'know...in some ways, this place can also be good. If you get past how screwed up and illogical it is, of course.
If anything, it makes my daughter happy that she can finally see me again. Little things like that make it all worth it.
