SEIGAKU;
Fuji Shuuske
Prince of Tennis
"Taka-san, it's been a while."
Fuji was one of Kawamura's greatest friends even before he came to Johto. Although incredibly cryptic and downright confusing in many of his messages, Kawamura knows that he'll always have a friend with Fuji. Even if it's just playing tennis on some of the weekends, or coming to the shop. The important thing is that he was there, and he's always appreciated Fuji for that. Although he is slightly envious that he's so much better at tennis than he is. Upon arriving in Johto, it was clear that Fuji was happy to see him. Even if it's just a quick meeting- it's sure that they'll be seeing a lot more of each other. Fuji has been here for so long, it's only natural for Kawamura to come to him for questions, and just to hang out again. He's easily the person that he's the closest to on all of the Seigaku team.
Tezuka Kunimitsu

Kawamura has a lot of respect for Tezuka, and why wouldn't he? Even when he was little, having a prodigy like Tezuka say that he was envious (even if it was only a certain aspect) gave him a huge boost of confidence. It was one of the things, and the actions of all the people his age in general that even made him continue the sport. Tezuka, although not very social and talkative, puts in an incredibly amount of effort into his team as well. When you're able to manage a team of crazy people like Seigaku and be a great tennis god it's natural for people to want to look up to you. Although not incredibly close, they're there for each other.

"That's a good thing, right? Johto's not so bad a place."
It's Fuji's little brother. Truth be told, Kawamura never got to spend a lot of time with him outside of Johto. It was a nice surprise to see the other be a bit more welcoming than he remembered. Maybe being here changed him a tad, but it isn't a bad thing. Although he's still the same when it comes to his older brother, which seems to be the never ending change of being embarrassed, he seems to have calmed down a little. Another thing that he didn't know is that Yuuta is incredibly informative and helpful, at least when it comes down to Johto. He also always has the best of intentions. It seems that just like his older brother, he cares for the people that he likes. They just both have different ways of showing it, and Kawamura can appreciate that.

"I just don't wanna line you up for a smack down, man."
The reason Kawamura was so interested in Kanji in the first place is because he remined him a lot of his old friend back home, Akutsu Jin. They both screamed punk, had oddly coloured hair- it was just so similar. After a bit of talking though, he found out that they were a lot more different that he had anticipated. Kanji, although looking like a total rebel, was actually a pretty nice guy when you got to know him. So was Akutsu- but it's just a lot easier to see it with Kanji. He has a soft spot and he's the sort of guy who cares. Kawamura knows that he can trust him, because the other likes to keep things truthful. He's looking forward to talking to him more in the future.
Rise Kujikawa
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
"Taka-san...? That's sorta cute."
Sometimes he isn't totally sure how to take Rise. Let's face it, sometimes she can be a lot to handle! She was one of the first people to welcome him in Johto, and she knew a lot about him straight off the bat. If everybody else, especially Fuji could trust her, than it was bound that he would too. He gets the feel that, like himself, she likes to put pleasing others before herself. Yet he's never seen her be down before, always with a smile on her face. He'll make her feel good, and take care of her properly, even if she doesn't notice it yet. She's also a fun person to text, in his opinion. .
Smoker
One Piece
"All right, I'll keep on alert."
Kawamura actually respects and looks up to Smoker a lot, even though he doesn't show it. He just likes to treat him like he would any other friend. He's never met someone with such a strong sense of justice before, and the experience certainly shows on the older man. Dealing with Luffy for all of that time? It must take a lot out of you. When one of your best friends is a deliquent, while the other is a prankster, it's certainly a huge change of pace. It's not unwelcome though, and if he needs a different point of view he wouldn't hesitate in asking him a few things. Although, he'll always think that smoking is a terrible habit, and Smoker won't change that.
Hibiki Ganaha

"I already am getting ready! I don't take challenges very lightly."
Hibiki continually surprises him. As a tennis player, Kawamura is used to the many rivalries that come around with sport. She manages to take things up to a new level though. Sure, he's met some people that are pretty hyper and competitive, but he certainly hasn't seen people as determined as Hibiki when it comes to things. He had made the challenge half-heartedly, and boy did he ever pay the price! It was actually sort of humiliating, having her grab that gym badge while he was left out in the dust. He knows to always take her seriously now, and he might try to beat her with a few gym badges if he has the time.
