This video is coming to you from some secluded part of the streets of Violet City, courtesy of PhantomCam™, and features one Yagyuu Hiroshi sitting comfortably on a bench beneath the shade of a tree, engrossed in a book with his backpack resting securely at his feet. [ The video opens to nothing but oppressive, shadowy purple, and a tiny (read: creepy) smile plastered to the screen. It recedes slowly, revealing Niou.

Niou is at a boutique somewhere around the city's main plaza, chatting with an employee. It appears to be a nail salon.... ]

- probably come in tomorrow; I dunno how long we're gonna be in Violet for sure.

[ While the employee is cheerfully informing him that her sister works at the salon in Goldenrod, Niou's attention is captured by the 'Gear, or (more likely) by the Ditto holding it. Annoyance flickers across his face briefly, but he excuses himself from the girl with a smile and goes over to pick up the 'Gear. ]

... Yeaaaahgyuu. [ A cordial greeting. ]

Niou-kun. Making friends?

[Because he's not about to ask outright what his partner is doing. That'll come in due time.]

[ Implying, of course, that Niou is up to much more than just 'making friends,' but he assumes that Yagyuu knows that. ]

For a first attempt, she turned out remarkably well.

[Which, given the way Yagyuu's fingers are still sliding possessively through her fur, letting her curl up in his lap without complaint, is a grievous understatement and they both know it. He's proud and it shows in all the little touches, the ones most people wouldn't notice.]

Kirihara-kun tells me he had a prophetic dream about her, as well. Were you aware we were harboring a dreamseer in our midst?

[ Niou's expression slides easily into faintly-mocking adoration. Oh, he didn't miss it, and he thinks it's precious. ]

A dreamseer, huh? Jesus, what is that kid even on... ?

[Mocking or not, Yagyuu's not letting go. He's surprisingly possessive when he wants to be, and this? This isn't a Pokemon he was given, or ensnared in the wild. This is his, and his team's, and she's perfect.]

There's really no telling. I wonder if I should be concerned he's been dreaming of me?

Definitely somethin' you should be concerned about. That's how it started with Yukimura, y'know. First the kid dreamed about him, then he started smelling his hair when he thought he wasn't lookin'.

There is a spray in my bag marked "Repel". I assume it's meant for Pokemon, but it might help at warding off overbearing second-years as well.

[ Niou laughs aloud for a second before he contains himself, stepping out of the salon to avoid the glances he was getting from the clients inside. ]

Dude, you should totally spray him with a Repel the next time he's annoying.

[The perfectly innocent tone in Yagyuu's voice is a stark contrast to the look on his face.]

[ Once outside, he settles on a nearby bench, resting his ankle on his knee. ]

I'll keep it close at hand the next time he's in my vicinity.

[And Lady chooses that moment to push her face into the video, ears cocked, wanting to see what's going on.]

[ The look that sneaks up on Niou's face, unbidden, is probably best described with the word 'awww.' He's quick to turn it into unimpressed amusement, though, with a dry tone of voice to match. ]

[Yagyuu continues stroking her fur, letting her investigate the Gear as she pleases.]
