Seems like a certain Shuppet wants to play cameragirl again, from the scenery it's easy to tell Artemis is out training in Ilex Forest, with his newest member to his team, a Sandshrew. A surprise, surprise, female Sandshrew. Why is it he always seems to catch females? He has no males whatsoever on his team.
The Sandshrew, affectionately know as Demeter, seems to be a bit timid and keeps hiding behind Artemis legs when confronted with the wild forest Pokémon, resulting in Theia the Pidgey swooping down to the rescue for a large majority of the battles.
Just as the team's about to retire for the day (due to Artemis legs feeling sore from the numerous scratches he's gained with Demeter worriedly digging her claws into him), something within the shrubbery moves. Demeter squeals and hides behind Artemis again as a friendly looking Bulbasaur moves into a sunny patch to soak up some more rays.
Artemis quirks an eyebrow, immediately taking an interest in the Grass type and sends Demeter into battle, but not without a scared whimper from her end first. The Bulbasaur looks at them curiously and decides to take them up on their challenge.
As the rival Pokémon rush towards each other, Artemis spots Styx and takes her show off the air by taking back his equipment.

A little while later, free speech has prevailed and Styx the Shuppet has regained the device.
It's obvious Demeter has been struggling against the higher level, sturdier Pokémon. Now a Potion, Antidote and Awakening later, Artemis finally throws a Poké Ball at their opponent. The Bulbasaur lets out a cry of surprise and shuffles inside the capsual twice before breaking free and looking at the two with renewed vigor.
Artemis furrows his brow in annoyance but it seems the escape has instilled the same determination within Demeter, who rolls herself into a ball and goes slamming into the side of the Grass Pokémon.
While the opposing creature struggles to stand back up, this time Artemis pulls a different looking capsule from his bag. Without waiting for his opponent to regain its senses, he sends the Great Ball hurtling towards the quadruped.
In a flash of light it's inside the capturing device. This time, the capsule wobbles three times before going still and causing a victorious 'ping' to emit from his Pokédex alongside the happy cries from his battered and bruised Sandshrew.
Artemis has captured his first male Pokémon!
