[Subaru looks extremely out-of-it. His eyes have bags-- ignoring that one eye is missing, replaced with a white piece of glass-resin instead-- his skin is pale, his hair is an absolute disaster, and about the only thing that seems to be keeping him upright is the worried Chansey next to him.]I... think I was sick. I don't remember very much of it

You'd have to make it to Cherrygrove to buy anything, but I may be able to help. I can send Aero to pick up some things in Cherrygrove and fly them out to you; it would be much quicker.
[ She turns, then, so that the large bird on her arm is visible. It must be heavy, but she seems unbothered. ]
If you're not meeting anyone in Cherrygrove, I'll be arriving there in a couple of days, and we'll be headed back to Violet City a day or two after that. You're welcome to accompany us. The trip is easier when you're not alone.

I would appreciate the help. I'm sure I'll be able to pay you back once I'm feeling better.
[Chansey wiggles into the video frame to peer at Quistis, nod approvingly, and go back to tucking Subaru's coat in around him to keep him from getting any colder.]
How long is the trip to Cherrygrove? I'll try and make it-- I think I've had my fill of traveling alone.

From New Bark to Cherrygrove? I made it in a little over two days, but the weather was better then, and I'm very much used to traveling on foot like this. Most people take three; in this weather and your condition, it might be longer.
[ When the bird launches itself from her arm, it becomes apparent how heavy it was; she actually stumbles forward a step before she catches herself. ]
Go as far as you can, and if we reach Violet before you reach Cherrygrove, I'll send my Skarmory out to pick you up. He makes much better time, either running or flying.
In the meantime, why don't you make a meal out of a Chansey egg? They're quite good, and it should help with whatever it is you've contracted out here in the cold.

She's been very adamant that I take it-- she's been taking very good care of me. [he reaches out, almost absently, to pet her; the Chansey responds by happily snuggling into his side and making happy-Chansey-noises.]
I'll set off in a little while, then. Is the path as straightforward as it seems?

I don't think they sell medicine in New Bark Town. [ A frustrated pause. ] I'm in Cherrygrove. I'll get you anything you need and meet you halfway.

Please don't be troubled on my account. There's no sense in wasting a day and a half.

Cherrygrove sells medicine, I believe, yes. Is... er... is anyone assisting you? I'm in Violet at the moment [Until she beats Falkner, and then she and Flay are moving on], but...

... Have we spoken before, though? I seem to recognize your voice, but I am uncertain.

I don't believe there's any kind of medicine available in New Bark Town unless you can get the locals to help you. I'd advice you to get some help over the network unless you feel confident you can make it to Cherrygrove without complications.
[All that rattled off, the most important question:]
What happened to you?

[Subaru pauses for a moment, glancing at Chansey before looking back at the video.]
I think I simply got sick. I'm not sure what with, but I wasn't cold until very recently, and I slept most of the time. I've only just now run out of food. [that bento from mom lasted him the entire time. he shared the trail mix with Chansey, though. ...this is likely why he's lost weight.]

[Frown.]
You look bad. I'd suggest letting someone have a look at you.

When I get to Cherrygrove, I'll stop and rest and make sure I'm well before I travel on.
