Ken is on the floor of Goldenrod City Gym, and he looks Very Displeased.
Because Whitney is calling him adorable. And it's not just Whitney, either. A few of the older girl trainers in the gym have ruffled his hair, called him adorable and gone as far as to pinch his cheek, leaving him with incredibly messy hair and a very red face.
Anyone who knows Ken knows calling him cute or little or treating him like a child is a mistake. He's silent, waiting for Whitney to continue, but he's got that Very Displeased frown on his face.]
Are you sure you're in the right place? This is a Pokemon League Gym, you know! Only the best of the best can even hope to make a dent in a fight here!

Kirby, his Growlithe, takes quite the beating from that Miltank, and Nemesis seems worn afterward, but they return to him and seem to be in high spirits. Nemesis in fact is raring for another battle. Oh Jesus.]
[It's while he's kneeling down and scratching Kirby behind the ears, murmuring thanks and that he'll get her all fixed up at the Pokemon Center after this and he'll even get her groomed--would she like that?, that Whitney begins to wail.
Have you ever seen a socially awkward eleven year old react to a girl starting to cry because of him?
