Suzaku is sitting on the floor of his hotel room, organizing his belongings. clothing over here, toiletries over there, travel supplies over in this pile, items for his Pokemon, sorted by use, over in that pile. one such pile happens to be one of various evolution stones, many of which he's collected ( Read more... )

So they lay eggs, huh? Funny, I thought mammals---

[ She pauses as there is a flash of light, giving him a moment before speaking up again. ]

Oi. Everything okay?

[ it's a few minutes before he responds, but the chaos seems to have settled by that time, at least. ]

Yeah, ah, everything's fine now. One of my Pokemon got hold of a moon stone and evolved suddenly, before I could stop her.

Evolving by stone, huh...

[ Vita shakes her head. She's still getting used to some of this strange nonsense. ]

You were sayin' something 'bout eggs, right? These things lay eggs? [ A pause, as she tries to think up a way to phrase this. ] If you're handin' em out then I wouldn't mind one. Kinda nostalgic, egg hatchin' n all.

Yes, I think all Pokemon do, even though many of them are mammalian in appearance. At least, from what I've seen thus far, anyway.

[ the faintest of smiles at the offer to adopt, nodding his head once. ]

Sure, you're welcome to any of them. You've had experience with hatching eggs before?

How much for an egg?

[He doesn't believe anything in life is free, okay.]

[ prepare for a surprise! ]

They're free. It wouldn't be quite right to sell them, since they're technically alive in there.

If you're certain.... [he could go on about while you might not charge for the creatures themselves, you could charge fees for other things.... BUT HE WON'T.]

I'll take one then, should you have any left.

Sure. There's still quite a few, so you've essentially got your pick of them here.

[He named it Euphie.

Why is he not surprised.]

I see you decided to name it after her.

[ just like a cold breeze sweeping all the warmth from a room, the cheer and generosity in Suzaku's voice, faint though it is, disappears. ]

Is that a problem?

...

No, not really.

[After all, there could not be a more fitting name for the... Pokémon that just evolved.]

Good.

[ he's been clinging onto his Delcatty for awhile now, always overly protective of her, but now he seems even more so, patting her head while she naps on his leg. ]

She was here, you know. Euphemia. I saw a photo of her; I have her starter Pokemon. She was alive.

Those are quite a few eggs... Hopefully you have found a home for all of them?

For most of them, it seems like. I wasn't expecting to get so many offers. Only a few of the Meowth eggs are left.

I'm glad to hear that, hopefully they will get homes soon.

If not, I could always take them to the breeding center. They'd be taken care of there. Unless you were interested in taking one...?

Ah...

((squirming on the other side. what do what do what do. Hrmm...))

I-Is it hard to care for a pokemon egg, afu?

usedrapidspin October 8 2011, 00:46:35 UTC
Not especially. I think some might require more attention than others, but in my experience, the goal is to keep them warm and carry them with you as much as possible until they hatch. Otherwise, it's just a matter of making sure no harm comes to them.

Hmmm....

W-what would you like in return, afu? I am afraid I have very little but... ((there's a little rummaging through her bag as she tries to find something...))

Oh, nothing. I'm not selling them--they're for free. Don't worry about it.
