Leon's known Yuffie since she was a scruffy kleptomaniacal seven-year-old and she's known him since he was a grumpy, taciturn teenager. She's his sidekick partner, and there's no one he'd trust more to have his back. He knows he shouldn't feel glad about her being here, but he is--spending months without his Yuffie around to troll tease him just wasn't the same.
Aerith • Kingdom Hearts II • ♛♛♛♛♛♛♛♛
Leon's nearest and dearest friend, almost a sister to him. He met Aerith a decade before the events of the first Kingdom Hearts, when Radiant Garden was destroyed by the Heartless. After living with her for so long Leon can safely say that he knows Aerith inside and out, and vice-versa. If she were in danger, Leon would give his life for her in a heartbeat.
Sora • Kingdom Hearts • ♛♛♛♛♛♛♛
When Leon first met Sora, the boy didn't inspire much confidence. It took several months, one restored Bastion and ninety-nine rescued puppies for the kid to win himself a permanent place in Leon's good books. The Sora here is a bit younger than he remembers, but that doesn't stop Leon from considering the kid one of his closest friends in Johto.
Riku • Kingdom Hearts • ♛♛♛♛
Sora always spoke about Riku with a kind of confident fondness, so Leon has a hard time reconciling this image he has of 'Sora's-brave-friend-lost-to-darkness' and the...kid he's meeting here. There's also a cockiness to Riku that Leon's seen peeking through, which rubs him the wrong way; Leon definitely likes confidence, but overconfidence is something that earns his disapproval.
Kairi • Kingdom Hearts • ♛♛♛♛♛♛
The Princess of Heart of Radiant Garden, though he's seeing her more and more as just 'Kairi' than for her symbolic value to his world. She's got guts, he'll give her that, but she's also one of the sweetest--and most naive--little girls he's ever met. Someday, he'll show her her world; until then, he's just got to keep her out of trouble. Has a Nidorina obliquely named after him.
Terra • Birth By Sleep • ♛♛♛♛♛
A young man with a good head on his shoulders, part of a matched set with Ven and Aqua. Terra reminds Leon of himself, and while that would normally be a problem (re: Squall), Terra is generally kind and polite and their similarity in temperament only helps them get along. Leon considers Terra an ally, and would gladly back him in a fight.
Ventus • Birth By Sleep • ♛♛♛♛
Part of a matched set with Terra and Aqua. Leon himself is not very familiar with the boy, but those bright eyes and earnest smile never fail to remind him of Sora; Leon can readily see why they're friends. Ven's backstory is a complex one, and Leon is trying to piece together what Ventus has told him and connect it with what he knows.

Part of a matched set with Terra and Ventus. He's met the young woman only once, when her Swablu went off gallivanting with a certain masked evildoer's Murkrow. He's got no particularly good or bad opinions on Aqua, but she seems level-headed, diplomatic and kind from what he's seen. He definitely wouldn't mind getting to know her more.
Vanitas • Birth By Sleep • ♛
Leon doesn't know very much about Vanitas, only that A) his presence is upsetting to several of Leon's close friends and B) he is extremely dangerous. Leon is aware of Vanitas'...particular appearance, but has encountered the boy in person only once. Still, Ventus and the others seem to care about him, oddly enough, so Leon wouldn't quite consider him an enemy--only someone to look out for.

Back home, this version of Riku was nothing more than data, so when he arrived in Johto, he knew literally nothing about...well, living, essentially. Luckily, Leon was able to help, and he's since answered quite a few questions for the boy, like what a sneeze was or how to tell when you need to sleep. He finds Riku easy to be around, and a little bit entertaining, not that he'd ever say so.
Xion • 358/2 Days • ♛♛♛♛
A young girl with Kairi's face. Leon has intervened a few times to help Xion while she was in trouble and to educate her about Johto, pokemon and battling. She seems to have taken a shine to him, and who is he to complain? Xion, despite her knack for getting into trouble which runs in the family, is polite and reserved, and generally easy to talk to.
Minnie Mouse • Kingdom Hearts II • ♛♛♛♛♛♛
Mickey's wife, Her Majesty the Queen of Disney Castle. Leon doesn't know her all that well, but she's Mickey's wife, and as such, he knows she's a trusted ally. Minnie's been through a lot in Johto, and even though they haven't spoken very often, Leon would definitely run to her aid if she ever needed it.

His Majesty the King of Disney Castle; Leon holds Mickey in the highest regard. They've been colleagues--and colleagues is perhaps the closest term--for some time now, and Leon wouldn't hesitate to trust Mickey, in battle or out of it. The King seems determined that Leon should have more fun, though, and Leon isn't sure how he feels about that. Must be a Disney thing.

His sparring partner. They're very like-minded; in fact, the more they get to know each other, the more similarities it seems they find. (It's almost weird, if he thinks about it too much.) They instantly clicked; Leon hasn't immediately liked anyone this much in years, possibly. She's one of his closest friends in Johto, though it's likely he doesn't realize it yet.
Hope Estheim • Final Fantasy XIII • ♛♛♛♛♛
Leon met Hope when Hope confused him for Squall. It was, all things considered, a bad first impression for both of them. Luckily, Leon redeemed himself by, well, not being Squall, so they're on good terms now. Hope tends to behave as if Leon is his older brother, making jokes and cracking wise; Leon tolerates the treatment.
Oerba Dia Vanille • Final Fantasy XIII • ♛♛♛♛
A perky young woman and a friend of Light's and Hope's. She and Fang got into a scrape with the sudowoodo, leading to Leon and Light meeting up with them. If one were to blend Aerith and Yuffie, one would probably wind up with Vanille--so Leon can tolerate her.
Oerba Yun Fang • Final Fantasy XIII • ♛♛♛♛
A friend of Light's and Hope's, rarely seen far from Vanille. He met her after she and Vanille got into trouble with the sudowoodo, and Fang got hurt fighting it. Fang is fierce, and has a strong heart--something Leon can respect--but she's equally loud and brash, which is something that Leon...doesn't exactly appreciate.

The more he gets to know Quistis, the more he wishes he had teachers and friends like her when he was Squall's age. Mature, smart, polite, obviously a skilled fighter and a good person to have on a team--Quistis has all these qualities that Leon can definitely appreciate. Now that Squall is out of the picture, it's a bit easier for him to approach her, and he's looking forward to getting to know her better.

Now that his Yuffie has arrived in Johto, things with this other Yuffie have become...odd. Not strained, exactly, but he can tell there's some niggling resentment here that Leon doesn't understand. He sees them as separate people, and acts accordingly, so where's the problem? Oh, Leon...
Cecil Harvey • Final Fantasy IV • ♛♛♛♛♛
Though they've surprisingly never met face-to-face, Cecil and Leon have spoken multiple times over the pokégear, and Leon finds the other man friendly and helpful. Cecil has provided commentary on several of Leon's posts and their conversations usually turn to the odd things they've seen or done in Johto. Leon enjoys speaking to the other man and he's almost come to expect Cecil's face to show up on the pokegear.
Suzuki Adelheid • Reborn! • ♛♛♛♛
Suzuki is well-spoken, if a bit curt and reserved, but Leon tends to appreciate that in people. They met when she offered to help name his Tentacool. He's since gotten to know her a bit better, and even took care of her gengar, Sussu, for her. He can't say he thinks of her as a friend quite yet, but she's far from an enemy.

Spunky, energetic and courageous, the young thief won his respect when she took down Minnie's kidnapper, Tarantulas. They've met in person a few times since, and she gave him a fright when Skarmory's attempt to rescue Kay from the top of Sprout tower didn't go according to plan. He admires her resolve and her willingness to face her fears--she reminds him very much of Yuffie.
Carly Nagisa • Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's • ♛♛♛♛♛
Leon met Carly when he traveled with her, Lockon and Zack out of New Bark Town. She's left and returned to Johto once already, but Leon would be sad to see her leave, since he considers her something like the first friend he made here. Leon's Skarmory and Carly's Psyduck get along like a house on fire.

The suave and debonnaire Lockon joined Zack, Leon and Carly when they left New Bark Town. He has since gone home.

A charming little girl Leon met on his first day in Johto. He helped her name her Vulpix--Glitter--and she's looked up to him ever since. Nanako is very sweet and equally brave, and Leon can't say she's unpleasant to have around; she's definitely easier to handle than Yuffie was at her age. Hopefully, they'll meet again in person some day.
Kisa Sohma • Fruits Basket • ♛♛♛♛
The trainer of Ari--Lucky's fierce mother--and a gentle and calm girl with nerves of steel. Leon likes them quiet, and Kisa is as quiet as it gets, so she's honestly pretty ideal for him as far as 'kids to look after' goes. He tentatively wants to get to know her better, but they're still at that stage where he probably won't initiate contact unless she's in trouble.
