Info: As Leon's starter, Skarmory has come to know the man she affectionately knows as 'boss' very well. Most of the time, subtle bodily cues are all it takes for him to convey his will, and he appreciates her perspicacity. Which isn't to say everything's always easy between them: Skarmory rather enjoys getting herself (and her trainer, by extension) into trouble, and is far more sociable than he is. As a result, she tends to drag him into less-than-desirable situations. He'll just have to get used to it.

Info: The one that nearly got away. Lucky has gone from a runty Growlithe to an Arcanine big enough for Leon to ride on, but still sometimes likes to think she's a lap dog. Despite this, Leon is generally more inclined to pet her or be affectionate towards her, probably because he remembers her as the tiny Growlithe she used to be. For the same reasons, she sometimes has a hard time getting him to use her seriously in battles, because he thinks of her as fragile. She works hard to prove herself as competent as battler as any of the rest.

Info: The moments following his evolution were tough ones for Scizor; the trainer he had blindly trusted failed to inform him that he would no longer be able to truly fly after evolving. As a result, Scizor's opinion of Leon has fallen considerably, but they remain on good, if slightly distant, terms. Scizor and Alcauld are very close.

Info: Originally Kairi's, but only after Leon gave her a stern lecture on how picking up wounded wild animals was a Bad Idea. It was him that offered up the name when Kairi expressed wanted to name the Nidoran after him; Leon figured 'Hart' would sound better than 'Leona'. Hart is protective, serious and hardworking; she really is like Leon, and while this generally means they get along, it also means they have occasional...artistic differences.

Info: When Leon first met him, Flood was more than a little lazy, and not much affected him. While this is still true to some extent, Flood has matured into a polite, affable Tentacruel who enjoys the company of people and pokemon alike. In battle, he serves mainly as support, sabotaging the enemy with poison and traps before letting Skarmory or Steelix go to town. As a member of Leon's team, he generally takes care of newcomers and the recently-hatched.

Info: 'Al', as he is known--Leon cannot possibly begin to pronounce that name--came to Leon when Lockon departed from Johto. Taciturn, Al isn't fond of socializing, but enjoys training. He was rather put-out at not being allowed to battle the insect swarms, being the only one of Leon's team to be weak to both bug- and poison-types. Instead he played moral support for Leon during Lightning and Yuffie's separate hospitalizations.

Info: Steelix is a kind soul, who enjoys eating and cuddling up to his trainer--much to Leon's dismay. That said, he's a powerful battler, and is more than happy to lend his (extensive) back to Leon and any of his traveling companions on their journeys. At ten meters long and nearly 500 kilos, he provides the 'bulk' of Leon's team. Evolved thanks to a Metal Coat gifted by Cecil, he was unsure about his new shape at first, but now enjoys the extra protection it gives him.
