Well, looks like I'm back to square one. It'll take me a while to make it back to the big city -- anyone know a quicker way than walking?

[ Miss that voice, Route? It's been a few months. Sanae Hanekoma stares into the camera, fedora tipped lazily to one side, eyebrows raised. New Bark Town is in the background, but the Persian twining around his ( Read more... )

[ SO. It takes a while to get everything together, but before too long, Mr. H and Josh are on their way down the path to Cherrygrove. Hanekoma might not be as good at this as he had hoped; learning the layouts of cities is something he knows how to do, but even with experience, the forest completely throws him.

For now, he's just going to keep walking straight until they run into the kids. Java the Persian slinks along at his side, still refusing to be withdrawn. ]

[ Good thing that Neku and Shiki have literally parked themselves right beside the road, then --

They've been waiting for an hour or so, at least, and Neku's picked up a game of fetch with his Growlithe to pass the time. For a fire-breathing monster, the puppy is... surprisingly typical; Neku throws the stick for it, and the Pokemon goes bounding off into the grass to chase it. But, mid-fetch #263, the Growlithe drops the stick abruptly and snaps to attention to focus on something further down on the path. The puppy cocks its head to one side for a moment, listening, then wags its tail happily and barks a greeting.

-- Neku's already clambering to his feet, using one hand to shade his eyes so that he can better see the road stretched out in front of him. Then, to Shiki -- ] You think that's him?

[meanwhile, Shiki and Marill are watching in amusement as Growlithe happily goes to fetch the stick each time for its trainer. Marill bounces merrily in her lap at each fetch, and the seamstress can't help but giggle at how cute the water mouse is.

But when Growlithe gives a bark suddenly, Shiki snaps her attention upwards, and then towards the direction the puppy is looking at. Soon enough, Marill's ears begin moving, and the water pokémon hops out of her lap to focus better on the noise its ears have picked up.]

Hopefully... guess we'll have to wait and see. [she's taking the time to stand up now too, and dusts off her backside to get off any dirt and grass. Soon after, she's glances down the road too, to see if anyone was coming.]

[ Well, this isn't awkward at all, is it? Only yes, yes it is -- and so he walks several feet behind the trenchcoat cloaked figure in front of him, hands in his pockets, Snubbull riding along in the pack slung over his shoulder.

But he has no room to complain. After all, he had the opportunity to decline and make off on his merry way all by his lonesome. Alas, Sanae was always of the proclivity to say much more than he really needed to, and Joshua understands that his cover's been blown; fancy that. It's only inevitable that he and Neku and the quaint little party would encounter each other on the roads eventually -- and this isn't really something that he'd like to draw out if he could help it. Really, he was just fine with avoiding them, but as it looks like they're all stuck here... well, might as well work with the kind of team dynamic he's most familiar with.

But, man, was this really awkward.

He'll just... waggle his fingers from the distance, okay? ]
