[ When the feed starts up, it's hard to tell what you're looking at, between shaky camerawork and a dark setting. The first minute offers nothing but a jumbled view of rocks and dirt, lit by what seems like a candle flame. Sniffling and quick breathing come from just offscreen, joined occasionally by the grinding scrape of rock on rock

[ A loud gasp, but not a panicked one. ]

Stay calm and sit tight, sugarcube--tell me where you are. Which cave?

Union Cave, I got kind of turned around-- we were fighting a Zubat--

[ He scrubs at his eyes, trying to hide the tears. ]

That rumble we felt was you? Sugarcube, what the hay were you doin' that got the walls to fall? [ She clicks her tongue. ]

Don't you worry, I'm on my way. Just keep talkin' to me, alright?

Dark knows Rock Slide, but I didn't know he'd Rock Slide all the rocks! None of them got me, a couple fell on him but I don't think he noticed...

[ There's a faint but noticeable rumble in the background as AJ's onix gets to work. ]

Well, try not to use Rock Slide inside a cave next time, all right? And don't worry about the rumblin', that's just my pal here doin' his job. We'll be there lickety-split!

L-lickety...?

[ He takes a second to steady his breathing, fails, and spends some time poking at his scrapes instead. Okay, maybe a couple rocks hit him. Little ones. ]

Okay, I'll-- not worry, I'll just... stay here.

Lickety-split! Like--soon. What's your name? I'm Applejack!

[ Shooter may begin to feel a rumble as Onix makes it slow, steady way through the rocks. ]

Shuto-- I mean, Shooter.

[ He's only 'Shuto Dan' to grownups, and not when he's a Pokemon trainer. The boy sits down gingerly, fumbles around for a Pokeball for a moment before his Rhyhorn is recalled in a flash of red light. It gives the boy and Charmeleon a little more room, and Shooter scoots away from the rock wall, scrubbing at his eyes again. ]

Applejack's kind of a cool name.

[ A little laugh. ] You reckon so? Most hue-muns think it's pretty odd. I think Shooter's a fine name, myself.

[ It's difficult to see in the flickering light, but he gives a tiny smile. The tears seem to have stopped. ]

Are you not a human? That's cool too.

[rodeopony]

[ Mission accomplished! Partially. Shooter may start to see some pebble-sized chunks of rock dislodging themselves from the cave wall as Onyx chews her way through. ]

Well, I'm a hue-mun now, but I wasn't before. I was a pony!

Like. A little horse?

[ Shooter has to take a moment and figure out whether or not this is lame, but is jolted out of that as soon as the rocks begin to shift. He jumps, laughs a sudden startled little-kid laugh. ]

I see you! It's working!

Like a pony.

[ If he tells her ponies are lame she may frown lengthily at him. Onyx manages to poke a hole in the wall with her tail, and AJ switches off the gear with a laugh of triumph. Her voice is muffled by a foot of sheer rock, but she's still audible. ]

Shooter? Shooter, can you hear me?

[usedslam]

[ If ponies can be Pokemon trainers and save his ass, they're fine by him. He nearly knocks poor Orange over in his rush for the hole in the wall, trying to peer through it. ]

Yeah! Hey!

[rodeopony]

[ AJ peers through the little hole, grinning. ]

I can see you, Shooter! I need you to get away from the wall, got it? As far back as you can get! Onyx is gonna try to break through the last of it.
