[The video starts shaking - Jirou is so excited that he can't stay in one place, so he's pacing from other foot to another

[Oh thank god more Hyoutei, though Gakuto isn't sure if Jirou just dropped his Gear or managed to narc out in the middle of a transmission. Either option is pretty likely; still, he's happy to see his friend.]

Pretty sweet deal, huh, Jirou. Did you just get here or something?

[Good, he's still awake; guess that solves that question. He grins back, being no exception to the infectious nature of Jirou's enthusiasm.]

You just missed me by a few days, otherwise I'd totally challenge you. But for now, you need to go outside the towns like in the game to find some battles.

[He turns the Gear so that the Munchlax can be seen.]

I got this! I've never seen one like it before, but it seems pretty strong. At least it has a big appetite! What do you have?

We're hanging out in Cherrygrove for a bit, so hurry up! Gotta warn ya, though, traveling on foot sucks. I had to sleep outside for two nights in a row, it was the worst thing I have ever experienced.

[Well, he's not really impressed by Munchlax's appearance, but if it makes Jirou happy, then it can't be all the bad.]

Yeah, there's a lot of weird new Pokémon here.

[The Gear shifts as he frees up an arm to pick up his Togepi, displaying him proudly. How convenient that Gakuto seems to not be keeping him in his PokéBall.]

Mine's one I haven't heard of before, either. He's a Togepi; cool, huh?

Okay! [Walking all the way sounds dull and bothersome, but he's very confident in his skills when it comes to sleeping outside.

Likewise, Jirou is not very impressed by Togepi's appearance.]

I haven't heard of that one either... He looks really weak, though. Can he even jump? What if you drop him, will he break? I thought you'd get something cooler, like Charmander...

You sure you'll be OK? [As in, will Jirou not pass out and get eaten alive by the local beasts.] Yuushi has a Pokémon that could come pick you up.

[Gakuto frowns at the criticism and holds his Togepi closer, causing it to make painfully adorable noises that are not helping its case.]

He's stronger than he looks! You should know better than to get tricked by appearances, Jirou. And I thought I'd get my Charmander, too, but I ended up with Kanye, instead. [Something he refuses to be disappointed about, no matter how obvious it might be.]

I think I would be... But I wouldn't mind being picked up and getting to where you guys are. Traveling around alone sounds reeeally boring... And you probably have a lot stronger Pokémon around there! I've seen one Rattata so far and those are really lame...

[The adorable noises make Jirou seem even more skeptic.]

Really...? Maybe someone could trade it for that Charmander... [He doesn't really have anything against the Togepi, but it sure is uncool.]

It's not really boring, more like... kinda lonely. [Something that's tough for him to admit, even to one of his closest friends.] I'll bug Yuushi about it. The Pokémon here are only a little bit cooler than the ones around New Bark, but it's still worth it to get out of that place.

[It is so not uncool- OK, maybe it is, but shut up, he is still totally offended by that.] No way am I trading Kanye in. [Despite the fact that, well, his first reaction when he came here was to try and do exactly that.] He can do random doom lasers and shit; I'll show you when we battle. I'm just gonna get a Charmander later and have 'em both.

Yeah, that too. But being lonely is really boring, so it's the same thing. [He grins.] Okay, great!

[Stiiill skeptic, but his interest has been piqued.] Doom lasers, huh? I'm looking forward to seeing that! I guess I'll need to get more Pokémon too, otherwise it won't be fair once you get that Charmander...

[That's more like it, though maybe Gakuto is looking a little sheepish at how much he's hyping up his Togepi, and glances down at Kanye.]

It's kinda random what he does. Remember that move Metronome? It's the best attack he has, so I'm pretty much stuck using it all the time. [Actually, it's the only damaging move he has, but that's an unimportant detail.] And you have to get your Bulbasaur! It'll be just like when we were kids.

So he's like a pocket sized Clefairy or something, then. Doesn't sound too bad. [He chuckles.] Oh, that would be great! Then the three of us could really travel together... If Ryou is here. Have you seen him?

Leagues better than a Clefairy; all the power without being pink and obnoxious. And maybe he'll evolve. [More like hopefully he'll evolve, though Gakuto wouldn't be completely disappointed if he didn't.]

Nah, Ryou hasn't shown up yet. Ootori's here, though, so it's only a matter of time.
