[Mac sits in his room at the inn. As his Pokemon mill about the room resetlessly, he looks over at what appeared in his bag on Christmas: a pair of green boxing gloves. At first, he wasn't sure. They couldn't possibly be. He had looked over them for hours. They definitely weren't new. Far from it, in fact. They were worn from hours upon hours of training, the laces dirty with frayed ends. But people could fake stuff like that, right? It's not impossible.
But then Mac tried them on.
There was no mistaking it. You don't forget something like this.
These were the gloves that his trainer, Doc, had given him. A number of things had made Mac gradually lessen his training more and more over the past year; friends seeming to disappear all the time, missing home and all manner of other little things. However, he knows that Doc wouldn't like him slacking off so much, no matter what he was doing. Slipping on his hoodie (and his gloves, just because, wow it feels nice to wear them again), he stands up before turning to his Pokemon and grins.]
Hey, guys!
[His pokemon cease what they're doing whether just milling about or harassing the others.]
Let's go for a run n' do some trainin' huh?
[voice]
[The audiofeed crackles on and Mac gives a goodhearted chuckle before he begins.]
Yo, Johto!
Happy New Year!
Just wonderin', anybody got any resolutions? If that's a thing people do here, anyway. For the past year, man, I goofed off real bad and my trainer back home woulda really let me hear it. So this year, I'm gonna concentrate on my trainin' more. And my Pokemons' trainin' too! Startin' today! I'm gonna start takin' this badge thing real serious.
What about you guys? Any resolutions?

[To start his and his Pokemons' training again, Mac can be found in the areas around Goldenrod jogging, battling wild Pokemon or even sparring with his Hitmonchan. Feel free to run into him!]
