Most of the Pokemon you'll meet aren't aggressive, but your Chikorita will protect you from the ones that are. She'll protect you from people too if someone tries to hurt you. At least, that's what my Pokemon does. [Even if it's only glaring at Kristoph Gavin at this point.]

[He angles the camera so that she can see him walking alongside, though he's careful not to show much else.]
