[[The feed starts with a view of a vase of flowers, the bouquet a beautiful arrangement of flowers commonly found around Azalea. A lavender ribbon is tied into a bow around the middle of the vase, and if you look close enough, the corner of an envelope is barely peeking out from behind it. ... You're missing someone, huh?

Not at all. I'm just fully aware that there have been people in Johto who have gone beyond what they're required to, just to watch out for others. They deserve a thank you.

Yeah, they do.
But 's not like you to do something like this unless you've got a bigger reason.
[Meaning, he's pretty sure this is for something that hits a little closer to home.]

...It just reminds me of my own mother, is all. I wondered if any had said thank you to those here. So I decided to.
Mothers deserve appreciation.

[He thinks of his own mother.]

[...Does his parents even know he was in the lockdown?]

[[That's really only half reassuring. Parents won't worry, but that doesn't answer the question of if they would notice.]]

Mother's Day...is that like Mothering Sunday?
[...wait trolls what are there trolls in the dungeons???]
Did--did you say trolls?
Reply
So, I suppose in some cases it is, and some cases it isn't.
[[Smiling, she nods.]]
Yes, trolls. They have grey skin, lots of fangs, and a pair of horns. A friend of mine has the grandest pair of horns back home, and everyone is jealous of them.
Upon coming here, though, they were turned into humans. They're pleasant people, despite what their species name suggests.

[Unsure face, get.]
The trolls I'm used to are big, ugly and stupid. And...I don't remember if the one I fought had horns or not.

While the trolls I'm used to aren't so much big and ugly, a few can be rather dense. You've fought a troll?

Y'know, though... I've been thinking about it lately, and it's almost like we're mothers now, isn't it? Pokémon are so smart, they're kinda... well, closer to kids than pets.

And yes, it is. With how intelligent they are, their needs more closely relate to those of a child than an animal. At least the nature of them, really, since we are on the same basic level as animals are when our needs for survival are involved.
I actually have a Pokemon who refers to me as her mother.

[She nods at Rose's analysis of the Pokémon's nature, not having a lot to add there. And at the last sentence...] Really? How? I mean, uh, how do you know? I can pretty much figure out what my team wants most of the time, but the language barrier's still there...

As for how I know, Guillemet is able to commune via telepathy with us. There are Pokemon capable of doing so, though I'm not sure as to how many. I only know of Guile and a friend's Alakazam, personally.

I don't think we've spoken before.

...Ryuzaki? Unless you happen to look like him, we have indeed spoken before. Though it's been quite a while.

Please humor me and tell me your name.

Rose Lalonde. It's a pleasure to meet you again, Ryuzaki.
