[[The feed starts with a view of a vase of flowers, the bouquet a beautiful arrangement of flowers commonly found around Azalea. A lavender ribbon is tied into a bow around the middle of the vase, and if you look close enough, the corner of an envelope is barely peeking out from behind it. The video is then turned to face the camera woman, Miss ( Read more... )

[Locked off the bat. 8| Hi, Rose. Probably because it deals with family.]

... You're missing someone, huh?

[[Hi, Soul. Have Rose staring at you for a moment before sort of half-snorting, half-laughing.]]

Not at all. I'm just fully aware that there have been people in Johto who have gone beyond what they're required to, just to watch out for others. They deserve a thank you.

[He's a little offended that you won't tell him, Rose. He told you stuff he wouldn't tell anyone. 8|]

Yeah, they do.

But 's not like you to do something like this unless you've got a bigger reason.

[Meaning, he's pretty sure this is for something that hits a little closer to home.]

[[That was after prying. 8|]]

...It just reminds me of my own mother, is all. I wondered if any had said thank you to those here. So I decided to.

Mothers deserve appreciation.

Mother's Day, huh?

[He thinks of his own mother.]

Yes, indeed. Did you happen to celebrate it back at home? It was never mandatory where I'm from, but it was celebrated as if it were anyway.

Yeah, we celebrated it back home. [A smile, the one he usually use to try and brush things off when it comes to his parents.] I wonder if they notice our disappearances?

[...Does his parents even know he was in the lockdown?]

I'd like to say that I'm sure they do, but I've heard rumors time stops back home when we leave.

[[That's really only half reassuring. Parents won't worry, but that doesn't answer the question of if they would notice.]]

[Here's Harry trying not to look upset by the memory--or lack thereof, rather, of his own mother. Also no mothering figure ever.]

Mother's Day...is that like Mothering Sunday?

[...wait trolls what are there trolls in the dungeons???]

Did--did you say trolls?

Mothering Sunday? It would depend on how you celebrate it. From what I know, it isn't, as it has little to do with religion or church. However, I've heard that people also use the same day to spend time with their mothers, and therefor celebrate it more similar to how Mother's Day is done.

So, I suppose in some cases it is, and some cases it isn't.

[[Smiling, she nods.]]

Yes, trolls. They have grey skin, lots of fangs, and a pair of horns. A friend of mine has the grandest pair of horns back home, and everyone is jealous of them.

Upon coming here, though, they were turned into humans. They're pleasant people, despite what their species name suggests.

I've never celebrated it, not really. I've just...heard about it.

[Unsure face, get.]

The trolls I'm used to are big, ugly and stupid. And...I don't remember if the one I fought had horns or not.

Well then, again. It can be.

While the trolls I'm used to aren't so much big and ugly, a few can be rather dense. You've fought a troll?

[Chie appears on screen, looking uncharacteristically thoughtful.] That's right, it is Mother's Day, isn't it? Well, I know I'm gonna give my mom and dad the biggest hugs ever when I finally get back home...

Y'know, though... I've been thinking about it lately, and it's almost like we're mothers now, isn't it? Pokémon are so smart, they're kinda... well, closer to kids than pets.

Mm, I believe I might give my own mother a hug as well. The surprise on her face would be worth it, at least.

And yes, it is. With how intelligent they are, their needs more closely relate to those of a child than an animal. At least the nature of them, really, since we are on the same basic level as animals are when our needs for survival are involved.

I actually have a Pokemon who refers to me as her mother.

Surprise? You aren't a "huggy" family, I guess?

[She nods at Rose's analysis of the Pokémon's nature, not having a lot to add there. And at the last sentence...] Really? How? I mean, uh, how do you know? I can pretty much figure out what my team wants most of the time, but the language barrier's still there...

In a way, yes.

As for how I know, Guillemet is able to commune via telepathy with us. There are Pokemon capable of doing so, though I'm not sure as to how many. I only know of Guile and a friend's Alakazam, personally.

You were raised by your mother alone, then?

I don't think we've spoken before.

I was, yes. Ever since I'm able to remember, at least.

...Ryuzaki? Unless you happen to look like him, we have indeed spoken before. Though it's been quite a while.

You have my name right, but unfortunately I have no memories of the time you're referring to. I'm sure you're aware that that happens here, sometimes.

Please humor me and tell me your name.

...Quite aware. Forgive me for not coming to that conclusion sooner.

Rose Lalonde. It's a pleasure to meet you again, Ryuzaki.
