But I had to put this up here and see what any of you might/might not agree with.I am not the biggest sci-fi/fantasy fan ever, but I do enjoy it more so than other genres of film/television. However, with this particular list... well, I agree with the Martha Jones bit. Not because the character is bad (because I freakin' love Martha more than all ( Read more... )

Hello you!

Hmmm, I think I have to disagree she was wasted to a large extent, which I suppose comes from the fact (to me) that she was pretty two-dimensional and a nothing character. She's all yours, bub.

But as for RTD, not only did he not write her decently, he seems to have an issue writing any of them decently, and then doing really nasty things to "get rid" of them. I think in his personal fantasy Whoniverse he gets the Doc all to himself ;)

Heh. I tend to somewhat agree with your last statement - not to say that a gay man can't write a character and keep said character straight (because he did a decent job of making me feel the Doctor/Rose love-bond)... However, I do think that deep down RTD wanted to be the Doctor's companion [lol].
And what a strange little moment that would have been eh? ;)

That being said - they should totally make the new Doctor gay. All the way. Or make the girl the Doctor - something is just so off about this new series and it's like the writers are not captializing on some unknown element.

LOL I hated all the forced sexual tension, it was incredibly contrived and they did it throughout new Who. I really enjoyed the end of this series (watched it last night) and am really looking forward to a new dynamic in the TARDIS ( ... )
