If people were less squeamish about genocide, HIV/AIDS could have been wiped out ages ago; all you have to do is kill everyone who happens to be infected. Since most people with the disease acquired it through morally corrupt behavior, it would also eliminate a good chunk of heathens! ;)

Of course, given the expense of hunting down forty million people, it's probably more cost-effective at this point to find a cure.

You also have to keep in mind that you may not be able to detect the virus in people immediately after infection, so you'd have to do several sweeps of mandatory testing to make sure not a single person survives to spread the disease again after the sweep. That's a lot of work!

And we could have done mass graves with other diseases, but, you know, something about us tends to think it'd be better to find a cure for the disease instead of wiping the slate clean everytime someone comes down with something. Go figure! :)

Fascinating! I've sent this to a bunch of friends, and posted it myself. I also love how you do the blockquotes for articles - can I copy you? ;)

Of course you can! The only downside is that if someone has their link color set to a light color, they may not see links in the blockquote, but, eh, I guess I don't really care that much. :)
