Weekend pictures...

Or, images taken before I fell off of the back of the truck in Charlottesville, VA at the Foxfield Races.

This is Ian and I at the Buddhist Biker Bar. I yelled at a girl in the bathroom there. She deserved it.

These are Ian's friends Alex and Mike. Has anyone done a study on the connection between being drunk and not being able to do anything but stick your tongue out whenever there is a camera around?
(Using the flash for two pictures drained the battery power in my camera, so that's all of the pictures from Friday night. Had the camera been functioning there would have likely been more pictures of people being drunk with possibly a picture of the zany, kind of smelly, but basically nice bar-back who kept running down to the cellar of the building to retrieve more beer via the door that was next to our spot on the porch.)
Moving along:
Saturday a.m.

This was the back of the truck we were using as Foxfield headquarters.

Here is Ian being snazzy...with a Coors light--ostensibly not being let down by the silver bullet.

This is really just a picture of our hats.

This picture was the last taken during the a.m. hours. I guess because I became preoccupied with drinking a bloody mary or two.

This the first afternoon picture, and a picture of Ian's friend, Nick. I managed to catch Nick looking like he was sucking on a sweet tart. Notice college kids in the background doing college kid things like walking around sans shirts and trying to cuddle awkwardly in a tailgating chair.

I'd say that's a rather demure tongue-sticking-outage compared to others that I've done.

I am not sure if I'm the photographer in this instance. I'm guessing so. Taking a picture of a random bunch of folks all up in the back of the truck doesn't seem out of the realm of things I would do. Cheers! random folks!

This is Chris and his salmon-colored sports blazer.

This is one of about four identical "self-portraits" I took. All that material around me and the best I could do was four self-portraits.

People I know! This is Hillary and Maggie. Hillary spent a lot of time with me on the roof of the truck cab.

Alex again.

Hey! Randoms! How about a picture?!

Or, um...maybe another since the first one didn't turn out so well. Maybe Humpy there on the end didn't like it. I really don't know if I took this one. I doubt it. I mean--I don't have to know the people I'm taking pictures of, but this is obviously an organized photo. So--who knows. I'm glad we could share the moment.

And that's it. Soon after I was perched on the edge of the truck bed on our way out of the Foxfield...field. Then I fell off of the edge of the truck. It was good times. As Ian put it, "I fell off of the back of the truck" became my own personal "Snakes on a plane."

This weekend I anticipate much sitting, reading, and sleeping. But this past weekend was a lot of fun, and I even got to see some horses be all athletic, fast, and pretty. I wish i'd gotten off of the top of the truck and gotten a closer look. Or not. It was pretty fancy as it was.
