1.) Ok, J and I were discussing the things we would have to throw out if we were at the airport yesterday. I spend a lot of money to groom myself apparently. Hair prodcuts: Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner $30, John Frieda smoothing balm: $6, John Frieda hairspray: $6. Shower gel: Bath and Body Works Breathe soap-less body wash: $12. Lotion: Bath and Body Works Breathe lotion: $10. Deoderant: $2. Toothpaste: $2. Moisturizer: $8. Pefume: Gucci $75. I would be out like $150 to $200 if I had to throw away all my stuff...and depending on the perfume maybe more. A whole lot more if make-up is an issue

So Ms. Grooms took the treasured lipstick and agreed to mail it. She stood in line at the airport post office with a silver tube of gloss, an address scrawled on a napkin and a few wadded dollar bills that she said the passenger had pressed into her hands.

Awesome. Lipstick. You cannot take lipstick or lip gloss??

And apparently other makeup is not allowed as well? That's what would get me. The make-up and perfume.

But now we know to pack it all in our checked luggage, so we're cool.

oh yeah, it's fine now, but at the time your luggage was already checked (or you never had any checked luggege) and you just had to throw your shit out. I knew about lipstick and lipgloss and I imagine anything with moisture in it would be a problem like foundation, concealer, anything in a tube, maybe anything in a compact. Basically, all make-up. I can see the reason why, but it's just going to mean a whole bunch of butt-ugly women on a plane.

Or maybe we'll all just become spontaneously comfortable in our un-made-up skins.

I'm amused by the reasoning: "We're doing this so you don't get blown up over the Atlantic Ocean." I mean, really, that's good enough for me.

I am also amused that the term "sensual warming liquid" was dropped above. Uh, not that I know anything about that kinda stuff ....

Also, I'll put the Egg Salad Sammich at NewsBites (my company's in-house eatery) up against any challenger ... very underrated.
