I've been interviewing a lot of people lately about a potential career. It seems like they really like to talk about what they do, so that makes it easy. Most of the time I just ask a question or two to get them talking, and then I hardly have to say anything else. You can do it! :)
These are some of the questions I like to ask (they may be obvious, I don't know):
-What has been most challenging, or what do you not like? -What was your career like when you first got into your field (i.e. what can I expect as a junior level person who'll get the crappy assignments to start off with)? -Ask for stories. Ask for examples. Tell me your favorite stories about what you do. -What were your expectations going in, and have they been met? -What do you wish someone had told you before you got into this field? -How do you spend a typical day on the job?
