Lets think bout it this way... Micheal Jordan was a highly sought after basketball star. Nike needed a spokesperson so that they could sell more shoes to their 'target market', i.e. kids who like basketball. So they pay a ridiculous amount of money to have him as a spokesperson. Production for Nike shoes goes THROUGH the roof so more jobs have to be created. Some Nike executive visits Malaysia and decides that they will have enough low wage workers to (lets remeber the fact that Malaysia was in dire need of jobs and still is) complete production to an effective amount so that all costs can be ballanced out. A large amount of Malaysians now have jobs and since they're cost of living is less than fifth of our cost of living, the workers now feel gratifed in knowing they can feed they're family's by working for Nike. Everyone is happy. Nike probably has better working conditions than Martha Stewarts sweatshop did... by far
