It's Not So Much the Subject Matter I Despise....

Actual quotes from a classmate's presentation this morning. Read with as much dramatic flourish as possible.

"China-- a vast territory. It contains many people. Especially ancient China."

"The earliest Chinese dynasty, as China is known for all its dynasties and rulers and things...."

I got out of bed for THIS?

I think you should try to find delight in such statements. They're funny!

"A vast territory." I think that's my favorite!

Could be worse... my geography teacher ran out of class about 10 minutes in, and a random guy came in and taught our class. He made really bad jokes and kept talking to me about the sun in England. I really wanted to say, "It's the same sun here.. shut up."

I know how you feel. My pre-block teacher was teaching us how to ask a kid what their name is. Turns out you walk up to them and say "Hi! What's your name?" :p

Is that so?

Hmmm...I thought you would pick them up and shake them, hoping their name might fall out just like a present. :)

Was that a bad analogy?
